Want to offshore fish in S FL

I didn't know there was that much tuna, wahoo, yada offshore in the Gulf. Do you really catch much out of Pensacola or even further south as far as Naples?

If you don't then I need to weigh that against the other salt water angling you can do off the west coast and panhandle. I used to scuba but haven't done it in a long time and can't for the time being. I've never spear fished but I've always wanted to.

What about doctors and hospitals in the Keys? Stores? I assume you have to evacuate for the hurricanes there. Where do people put their boats? I assume you have to go up the ICW far enough to get out of the path???

As far as fishing for those, they can be caught anywhere along the gulf coast. I used to fish offshore out of Galveston like 10 times a year and never had a problem getting my limits.
