Funny. I knew him personally, for many years. My daughter and his son both played select/club soccer and I would run into him often at various games/tournaments. For years, he would get us field passes not only for games at Texas Stadium but also VIP field passes for my family & friends at training camp. Would always walk up to me to ask us if we needed anything. Just a super nice guy and yeah... we were shocked.

As someone who hasn't used the war room cam in years is there really any significance to it?

I could see some value 15 years ago, but even then it was a lot of assumptions going on. Even a few years ago it was sort of entertaining to watch Jason Garrett play QB in the middle of the room right before the Dak pick.

Seems like with Twitter, leaked picks (I know they've stated to police that better), and 100 different draft shows going on at one time you get more and better information anywhere else.

If you look at who they hand the phone to (OC or DC, then which position coach) when they are talking with the pick it will usually tell you the pick or at least the position

Good point. They always high five and smile. You need to pay close attention to see if it's legit or just routine based on the degree of their reaction. Oftentimes you can tell they were worried their guy was going to be taken and were happy to get him. If they feel that strongly about the pick, their recent first round history gives them the benefit of the doubt in my book. But, everyone swings and misses at times as you pointed out
