Ware and Spears

I just watched the highlights of the game on total access and they showed three plays one of ware and two of spears that got me excited. On a sweep, Ware gets cut block and his knee is on the ground as the running back is sweeping full speed parallel to him. He gets off the ground, shoots towards him, get's facemaksed with his head bent back, and he bulldogs the running back to the ground for a five yard loss.

Spears shoots through the line and throws the running back for a three yard loss. On his sack, he gets blocked to the ground with the QB girrard three yards from him, he gets back up and darts to the QB in a heartbeat. His quickness and size remind me of Leon lett only maybe even a little more quickness.

I really think our defense is going to be good this year as they mature and get use to playing together.

I'd like to see Spears play against a first team offense before I make any serious judgments, but I think both of them will be Pro Bowlers in the future.

I agree. I think they are going to make mistakes now and then but I also think both have the ability to make the game changing plays as well.

Coleman will probably start the season but i think thats a bad move. Spears can definatly play.

I think Coleman will start in large part because of the time Spears missed but I also think that will change as he gets in better playing condition. Remember right now these guys have not been asked to play very long within a game and on opening day these guys are going to be forced to play a lot more min. then they have been.

Yeah baby!!!!

Jones looked to be in mid-season form last night, he was hitting holes quickly and cutting to the open day light. He had quite a few runs that came very close to going the distance. As the D gets worn down those 5/10 yard gainers will turn into long distance break aways!!!

LT IS the ballgame IMO. We have to corral him to even have a chance. Not just in the running game but also on screens and short crossing routes where he can be deadly.

We all know it was against 2nd teams..but he looks so fast and elusive. I absolutely love this kid. With some better O-line play last night (right side) he could very well be the rushing leader this year.

I believe that if this line can stay healthy and play consistently, we will be happy with our results more times than not.

Getting back to JJ..I hope SD does bring 8 in the box. With JJ's style if he hit a hole he is gone for 6. Also I believe Bledsoe will play action the heck out of them. We are going to win a tight one over SD.

If we can limit mental mistakes I think we certainly have a chance aginst SD. Boys get this weekend off and will be back to practice next week

With the 11th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Cowboys select:

Ronnie Gardner - WR - Westside Elementary School

Positives: Can run a 4.2 40... has soft hands and solid jumping ability. Able to separate himself from smaller cornerbacks. Usually able to run without tripping over himself.
Negatives: Has character issues. Reportedly called Suzie Higgins a 'poopiekins' in Art class. Has been known to hold out for candy. Is 6.

HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a little concerned about what the Jags were able to do in the no-huddle. But then, I'm also glad we saw it this week, instead of being surprised by it next week.

I just relize this is the NFL and they have some quality players as well, your not going to stop the other team 100% of the time they will make plays.

I like the youth and exuberance the rooks bring to our D.. I think this will outweigh the inevidable mistakes that will happen.. Our D will shine this year

i don't think its going to matter who starts, Spears is going to get a lot of reps and progressively more as the season wears on.
I agree on the Lett comparison. I just saw the highlights but Spears looked like a "big cat". That's just ridiculous how quick and agile he is at that size.
Same for Ware, the guy looks huge for 240-250ish, real strong. Ware moves more like a CB than a DL or LB the way he can turn the corner and zip around people. The beauty is that he still has the power to bull rush people and plow RBs if they get in his way also. I love the fire with which he gets after the QB. Howie Long loved hearing the term "relentless" to describe his pass rushing, I think Ware looks like he has that same hunger when he knows he's blitzing. Its beautiful.
Yeah yeah its only preseason and these guys are rookies but I think its not only apparent that these guys can play at this level but that they very well could be stars.
Burnett isn't as obvious yet in his ability because its a new system for him but he's going to be a player also. I'm loving this past offseason.
We're really building something here....finally.
