Ware Could Have Shot At Strahan's Sack Record?

Demarcus Ware has been a monster this year! Ware has 9.0 sacks thus far. If Ware stays on course he is on pace for 24 sacks which would set an NFL record that is currently being held by retired NY Giant Micheal Strahan. Strahan's sack record is at 22.5.

If Ware does get that record he will be Defense Player Of The Year for sure.

Ware does have some competition in Miami Dolphins Joey Porter who has 10 sacks.

What do you guys think? Can Ware do it?

Actual, I looked it up and found this:


Dolphins OLB Joey Porter says he is gunning for Michael Strahan's single-season sack record.

So was Minnesota's Ray Edwards in preseason, but Porter has a legitimate chance. He currently leads the NFL with 10.5 through seven games, putting him on pace for 24. Strahan registered 22.5 sacks for the Giants in 2001.

And Strahan doesn't hold the record, Mark Gastineau does. Strahan's last "sack" that year was pure garbage, but Tagliabue was too much of a wuss to discount it.

Ware may be on pace for 18 sacks but you're not factoring in he could have some monster games of multiple sacks. He has a shot at the record. I don't think he'll get it and frankly I don't care. That record is bogus to begin with. Favre just layed on the damn ground.

He had a monster game against the rams...Against tampa He put pressure nicely. He was better then average the rest of the games getting one sack in each game. I dont see where He's a monster. Almost maybe but He's not there yet.
