Maybe the 60k for being on a roster for the 09 10 seasons.

I didn't think they got any yet either but maybe he was saying when he does get it it's going right back.

I thought the Union had a fund from which they were paying players during the lockout? Is this what he's giving back?

I think there is a fund that provides some meny, but as i understand it no paychecks have been missed yet so the fund shouldn't kick in. As far as I'm concerned its the lower paid players who should get the bulk anyway. IF the guys making millions don't have enough to survive on the union shouldn't finance more of their stupid spending.

Less fortunate players? By any reasonable standard these guys are paid handsomely to play a "game"...These guys had ample time to amass a sizeable financial warchest to offset any hardships brought about due to the lockout. Oh, I forgot about the league car ownership and jewel purchase minimum the players have to abide by...

I love this guy. He is rare. He is without a doubt one of the best pure people we've ever had the privilege of having wear the star.

FWST Blog: Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware visits school, plans to give back lockout money to help out less fortunate players

By Clarence E. Hill Jr.

Irving _ Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware went to Farine Elementary School on Wednesday to help celebrate a fifth-grader's selfless act of going out of his way to help another student.

It turns out Ware is doing the same thing for his fellow brethren during the current NFL lockout.

The perennial Pro Bowler is not accepting any of the lockout fund money raised by the now-disbanded NFL Players Association to assist players during the lockout.

Players who were on a roster for every week the past two years will recieve $60,000. It will be rationed down after that depending on many weeks a player qualified for the money.

Ware's the real deal. Just a great guy, and we're lucky to have him on the Cowboys.
