Ware is the Holding?

Is it my imagination or is Ware is held several times every game? I realize they won't call all of them, but it seems like there are at least 2 blatant holds on him every game with no call. Am I seeing things that aren't there?

I think they're calling holding penalties different this year -- being a little more lenient. I've watched games around the league and seen blatant holding penalties not called.

Maybe the refs just suck. Yeah, that's probably it.

...and I've seen questionable calls called. You know, I know bad calls/non-calls happen, but the Cowboys are getting the short end of the stick on many extremely poor calls this season. (two block in the backs that clearly weren't in Chicago and now in the Vikings game to name just two)

I know its not a hold but I've seen players this year beat their man and the O-Lineman has to resort to pushing the defender in the back past and beyond the QB.

I don't know how its not a penalty.

If you initiate a block and while continuously blocking the defender's back is turned towards you, it's not a block in the back.

They'll never call it if it's the guy they've been blocking since the snap. Now if they just randomly pick of some other defender that they haven't been blocking, it'll get called.

Yep...and it's incredibly frustrating. Those failures to "wrap up" by Ware yesterday were due in large part to those pushes in the back. They give him too much momentum to get a hold of the QB...he's just falling off, or only getting one arm on em because he's trying to correct his path. Frustrating I tell ya.

Hey, at least you can understand what this guy is saying, and he uses capitalization.

He has one sentence with an extra word. Not nice comparing him to a guy that just swats at the keyboard to see what comes up.

Bullfrog, he was making a reference to a certain poster here that is horrible at English, typeing, thought expression, etc.

he gets no respect from officials whatsoever

the really frustrating part is he can be blantantly held ot taken down and that goes "unnoticed" but even borderline stuff is almost never missed on our OL

not hard to draw a conclusion here

Officiating is horrible this year, every single team could probably say the same thing, with the exception of the Pats and Colts. It always seems slanted against you, but truth is, it's usually just over-all horrible. You just dismiss the questionable calls that go for you because they had it coming after the original bad-call or you are just willing to dismiss a questionable call because it goes for you.

I can agree with this. That Pats game was infuriating though. You'll see what I mean this next weekend. Enjoy.

I agree, but my point regarding Ware is he is a relentless pass rusher and rarely if ever draws a holding penalty. I don't sit there yelling for holding calls, this is retrospective analysis. This thread isn't based on any particular play. I don't see how some of the obvious holds do not draw a flag. It's true there is holding on every play, but dynamic pass rushers historically draw more penalties.
