By Tim MacMahonARLINGTON, Texas -- Pro Bowl outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is likely to be sidelined two weeks with a sprained neck, a source told ESPNDallas.com.

Ware left Cowboys Stadium in an ambulance after he was carted off the field on a stretcher during the fourth quarter. He was released from the hospital Sunday night after being evaluated by doctors.

Ware had full movement and feeling in his extremities. He treated the swelling and soreness in his neck by icing it Sunday night.

The NFL's reigning sacks champion had played 76 consecutive games since the Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the 2005 first round. He played almost every down this season despite a stress fracture in his foot sustained early in the season and a chip fracture in his wrist discovered last week.

It appears likely that rookie fourth-round pick Victor Butler will replace Ware on Saturday night against the Saints, who lead the NFL in total, passing and scoring offense.

So we are going to play Drew Brees and the only guy on the entire defense that could generate any pressure is not playing.

We have no shot, no shot at all.

I hope he's ready for our big playoff run.

:laugh2: I am sure he will be ready for December 2010 or 2011 or 2012 or maybe more.

Glad to see we have some classy fans here.

The guy had a very serious injury and could have really been injured bad maybe permanently.

Then again, I have to remember where I am and who posts here. Classy or informed do not define to many people here.

LOL! I hope that was a joke. Without Ware to generate a serious pass rush we're not going to win anything.

If he's out for 2 weeks as it is he'll miss the rest of the year cause, by that point, there will be absolutely no reason to have him play the Philly game.

Ware won't play another snap this season it appears.

he wont play until 2010

I agree. They're not going to put him in against Philly just to do so. By that point our season will no doubt be over.

I'm just glad he's OK that was a scary collision. I was starting to have visions of what happened to Irvin.

No one was joking about his injury. If you need help getting off that high horse let someone know.

I have never used the ignore option until tonight.

Seeing people make jokes about this really shows the maturity level and class of the people here.

I have an ignore list now and it became pretty large from this thread.

Some of the "fans" of this team make me sick.

A. I have never sat on my hands. And please stop acting like you know anything about me or the fans here.
