Harrison, Steelers talk about new contract

Steelers LB James Harrison made arguably the biggest play in Super Bowl XLIII to follow up winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Now comes the contract renegotiation.
Harrison has one year left on his current deal, but his agent, Bill Parise, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he already has held discussions with the team. Parise said he’s hoping for $100 million for his client, though he said that with a laugh.

• “We have had discussions, not negotiated, but we have talked,” Parise said. “I think the Steelers and I are on the same page. We don’t think there will be any issues. My goal and, I think, theirs is the same. We know what we need to do and we’ll both go about the business of trying to get it done.”

• Parise believes a deal can be wrapped up fairly quickly.

• “I’m not worried about the Steelers at all. Their history shows they do the right thing at the right time.”

you need sources for that? it should be damn near clear as day. before this year he was a no body then BOOM hes "dpoy". dont think so. Earlier this year he beat up his girlfriend and got no reprocusions from the NFL and in this years shi... bowl he went after number 47 even after 47 said was like
"enough"

He didn't exactly beat her up. He slapped her once and broke her phone. Also, maybe the league is waiting for the case to be resolved before issuing any punishment. Same as they're doing with Anthony Spencer.

Yep, no brainer about who gets paid more. Ware is like 5 years younger than Harrson I believe. Harrison will be lucky to get paid maybe about 15 Mil in Signing bonus if that. While Ware will get maybe around 40 Mil or so in Signing Bonus.

Exactly! 31 in May and you'd be nuts to give him more than 4 years and 30 million with maybe 12-14 up front.

Wouldn't suprise me. The guy went from a nothing nobody to superman in one year. That should have raised some eyebrows around the league.

Slightly off subject, but I had chills watching Ware and Julius Peppers in the game at the same time during the Pro Bowl today. I know Peppers wants out of Carolina and it is rumored that he wants to play here. That would be a very dynamic duo. I don't think we will be major players in free agency, so it probably won't happen. It's good to dream, though.

That dude oozed steroids with the look on his face and mannerisms when he was jacking up Francisco on that personal foul call in the super bowl... must have been having a flashback to when he was beating down his girl back in March. Roger G. doesn't remember that though.

Yeah, but I haven't seen anything about his case since the incident. Generally when players' cases have been wrapped up, it'll get a little bit of play in the media.
