I don't think a waiter should "assume" a tip, ... he/she should feel obligated to earn it.

In most states Waiters on taxed on the assumption that they will make a certain percentage of their sales in tips. In California it used to be 8%. Ware is a great guy and I knew he was kidding when he tweeted that, but if you stiff a waiter on the tip you are often costing them money because they get taxed on it.

How the hell did you embed that? I couldn't figure it out for the life of me lol
There are a couple ways.

Find the date on the tweet, right-click and copy the link...or copy shortcut. Whatever option shows up in the menu, then paste it as a URL.

Yet another reason to make sure you earn your tip.

I'll tip a good waiter 20% or more, ... I'll tip a bad waiter 10%, .. thinking I shouldn't tip them at all.

That's what I mean by not assuming a tip.
