Hope to see plenty Ware hits on RGIII this year.

During a recent interview with GQ Magazine, former Baylor star and current Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III was asked who he thought was the scariest defensive player in the league.

Griffin’s response? A Dallas Cowboy.

“I’d have to go in our division: DeMarcus Ware,” Griffin told the men’s magazine. “I don’t ever fear a player, but D Ware, he got me good twice last year. Took my head off.”

Good, and now that Ware can focus more on rushing hopefully he can triple that number lol

Playing with basically one arm last yr, rg3 made him look silly on a few plays.... That had to stick in ware's craw....hopefully this yr he gets payback.

I just hope Ware can make a simple football play and take the Qb on the option and don't let anybody get outside.

I couldn't believe our all-pro DE/OLB didn't know what to do on a play you are taught to defend in peewee football

That was coaching. They were ill prepared for that game last year. You can say many things about Kiffen and Marinelli... but you can't say they won't have the defense prepared to face a team.

Ironically enough, I believe he completed the pass on that play lol...

His "one arm" didn't have anything to do with Ware looking silly.

I wonder if there's a way we can counter Ware being the read man with Carter. It'd be advantageous to keep Carter as a QB spy when we play the Skins, and even the Iggles if Vick is back there.

Players play. Coaches coach.

I can all but assure you the coaches did not tell Ware to focus solely on the HB each play. That would be his only excuse. He got used. Hopefully the change in positions and responsibilities corrects that. Don't worry about the running back, just hit RGIII.

Kiffin hates to spy. It's one reason he got so abused by running QB's at USC. It detracts directly from the principles his defense is based upon.

With that said, I sure hope he does it.

That's a ridiculous statement. And unnecessary. It's like saying water is wet.

If you don't think a defensive staff can have a defense prepared or unprepared to face a certain team, then you are wrong. It was clear from the indecision on that side of the ball that some of the players weren't sure what to do about the read option in many instances.

Ware didn't play well, and that was on him and his injuries... but it was abundantly clear also that the defense wasn't adequately prepared for the read option. Scheme puts the defenders in the right spot, and the players ability allows them to make the play. In that game, many of the defenders weren't in the right spot, and that falls to coaching, injuries or no injuries.

I still don't know how he didn't pop a shoulder on that play.

He never spied Vick, and thats one of the reasons he was so successful. He had his DE's contain and keep Vick in the pocket, and Vick struggled majorly against that. His Bucs dominated Vick, when Vick was young and explosive. RG3 is a much better passer than Vick though.

Agreed, I thought I never I'll see the day when Ware would have the cleanest jersey onthe field that last game against Washington. It was to the point Ware look like he should have been pulled out and let someone else come in and replace him but unfortunately all we had left was the water boy.

Ware would've looked silly regardless of his assignment

That's the whole point of the read option.

Whatever ware chose to do would be wrong. They were reading him and going the other way.

Defensive coordinators either have to bring an extra man or let the qb go and hit him on his run.

The nfl is going to get really interesting this year not just with the read option but all the quick option

In that case, Kiffin's scheme got smoked by the read option at his last stop, but you will blame the players there.
