By all accounts if we had not drafted Booker We would have drafted Warren. So which Tyler has had the bigger year? Are you happy with Jerry picking Booker? I think Warren would have been a better pick.

I don't think the Cowboys were considering Warren at all. The two other names I heard were Grey Zabel and Walter Nolen.

Booker and Zabel are obviously Jerry guys, as replacement goldfish for Zack Martin, and Nolen was your Will McClay guy, another all-world athlete who needed work as a football player.

Credit to McClay. I hated Nolen as a prospect, but he has started VERY fast for Arizona and been VERY good.

Found this on Google... I think last week vs SF was Nolen's second NFL game.

I was not crazy about the Booker pick and I am still not. Warren was one of several players I would have taken at #12. HI haven't watched enough of him to say how good he has been but 50 receptions for 617 yards or 12.3 yards per reception and 3 TDs i not bad. It is actually pretty good for a rookie. He is 2nd in the league among TEs in yards, tied with Travis Kelce.

My issue with taking Booker is only that the Cowboys were loaded with OL at the time. They have Hoffman, Bass and they Robert Jones who they signed as a Fee Agent. They could have moved Nate Thomas inside as well which is where he was projected to play coming out of college. In the meantime. they needed DT and RB.

I think Warren would have helped the passing game in Dallas but remember, back in April they did not have Pickens. Given their needs in April, Walter Nolan, or Derrick Harmon both would have been good picks for them. Again, back in April we had Parsons but no Clark and Williams.

yeah right he would have been underutilized! Dink and dunk passes, we would have hated him by now

This is kind of a hard question for me to answer cuz Id hafta do a re-do of the whole Cowboys receiving package and the acquisition of Pickens and how Warren would have been added to the group of pass catchers.

So many balls to go around and all.
But I'm not the biggest Booker guy cuz I dont see his RG impact on winning games as important as I see other positional impacts.

Including tight ends.

With that said and based on impact alone, Id prolly have taken Warren and let Bass have remained at the RG.

A TE??? In the mid 1st???

There is crazy and there is nuts.

Then there's drafting a TE at 12.
I don't have much of an issue with that take, but when they already used pick #12 on a guard you kinda have to throw positional value out the window. Both are going to be in that area of if you take them that high they need to be elite players.

I think the Booker pick was fine but Id rather have had a RB or a DT but I think I would have been salty if they took Warren with Ferguson on the roster. But that was before the season results.

when you look at these highlights do you see a top 10 draft pick? Teams actually but corners and safeties on guys like bowers, kettle kelce etc. He's a basic tight end like tj hockensen

To put it in perspective, Hockenson has 34 receptions on the year, and only one has gone for 20+ yards. Tyler Warren has seven catches over 20 yards.

Warren is averaging 4 more YPC than Hock. If you really want a crazy stat, Warren's YPC this year is higher than CeeDee Lamb's was last year.

He is a whole different level of explosive.

1. I'm not talking current tj after multiple acls

2. Did you watch the video? What play shows elite explosiveness? Give the timestamp

On the screen pass at 0:30, do you think that Jake Ferguson would even make that first man miss?

Warren is currently averaging 7.6 YAC per reception, second among TEs, and more than Kelce, Kittle, and Bowers. Ferguson is averaging a little less than half that.

Don't care for what ifs but the hilarious thing is to show a tight end should've been a top 10 pick you reference a screen pass. I think you proved my point. He's basic. If you asked me to show you the most explosive play George kittle made as a rookie it won't be a screen pass.

You keep posting stats. Do you have film to show he's more explosive than bowers? Yes or no.

I would have taken Warren because I feel like he would have had a bigger impact on the team than Booker. I also would have taken Jihaad Campbell over Booker for the same reason.

Not to say Booker is a bad player at all.

Where have you seen this over and over to the point that it is "by all accounts"? I hadn't really seen that

Apparently you haven't seen either Brock Bowers or Warren play. Both are more than worthy of such a pick. Personally I'm happy with Booker, but I totally disagree with your comment about drafting a TE at that point in the draft

If that was a screen pass, where were his blockers? Dude took a checkdown and made two defenders miss to create 15 yards.

And given your opinion on the rest of his highlight video, I would suppose that ripping off chunk gains on a downfield catches "aren't explosive" either. And neither is YAC, so I don't know what you want to see.

If weekly big plays like that are "basic TE" stuff, then I'd love to have a basic TE.
