Was Darrell Green ever scared of Michael Irvin?

I'll always hear Skins fans talk massive amounts of trash about Irvin being scared of Darrell Green. But yet I realized all Green would do is look at the back of Irvin's helmet in the 90's whenever Mike would burn them.

I don't see how he could have been. As I recall, Irvin had some great games against Green and I seem to remember it being the other way around in that Irvin seemed to be the only WR Green had trouble with on a consistant basis.

I think that is a bunch of fan talk. I think great players respect other great players because they know what it takes to play at the level of a Irvin or Green.

True true. I usually just think it's a fan vs fan thing about who is better. I mean Skins fans will never give us any credit for anything we do.

Commanders fans thinking that are either high or ignorant. Possibly both.

Of course not some will never give us credit for anything. Then again same could be said for many Cowboy fans. Some refuse to give credit to the Steelers or 49er back when they were winning championships. For me I have never had an issue giving credit for those who went out and earned it and that even includs some great teams of the Commanders. You don't have to like a team to give that team is just dues

I know one Skins fan who thinks Miles Austin is a fraud. "I cant ever say he's good he plays for Dallas blah blah." Yeah keep on hating, and thinking Midget Moss is so great.

I give credit unless you are speaking about the one they cheated to get.

I don't think either one was afraid of the other. It was my pleasure to watch the two go at it over the years.

What was Dallas record against Washington in the 90s?

Oh that's right, 12-8, seems Green was getting beat with regularity.

They cheated or did they get a call in their favor?

Norv says differently, like Irvin abusing Green left and right.

And Norv coached them both.

They paid players under the table to circumvent the cap. Broncos also got caught after their Super Bowl wins.

There was no fear. Probably the ultimate sense of challenge.
Irvin schooled him like no other receiver I can recall.

After Irvin retired, George Michael--they guy that does the Commanders' Report on local DC TV--interviewed Green and asked him if he felt differently about playing the Cowboys with Irvin gone. He replied something to the effect of, "I sure won't miss him pushing off on me all the time."
