I've seen a lot of posts criticizing how Keith Davis played on Saturday, specifically on the TD to Fitzgerald. However, Matt Mosely of the DMN wrote this:
Davis gets beat on fluke play: Keith Davis got the start at free safety Saturday against the Cardinals. He also gave up the game's only touchdown to Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
The good news is that Davis did the correct thing on the play. He covered the receiver that Warner was actually throwing to, but Warner's pass was so far behind the intended receiver that it ended up in the hands of Fitzgerald.
"[The coaches] asked me what happened," said Davis, "and I told them Warner just threw a bad pass." Added Warner: "Actually, it was a broken play. I kind of let the ball go a little early and Fitzgerald made a great play to make the catch.”
That sounds a little more encouraging to me. For those of you who watched the game (and especially those who taped it), what did you think of how Davis played?
