Ball never changed direction or rotation, bottom line is on replay you have to have absolute visual evidence and there clearly was nothing in the replay that was going to overturn the call on the field.

Howie Long was right-the reason why the Panthers lost this game was 'cuz they gave up some 200+ yards on the ground. Championship teams do NOT do this.

It was just like the Seattle game. Did that holding call all of a sudden turned NON-call on Jason Witten cost us the game? Absolutely not. What did? (1)the chip-shot miss by Cortez, (2)the bad playcalling in the redzone by Payton, and (3)the late game meltdown by our D.

I am not sure. I was not when it happened and I dont know now. I have seen a shot where it look like the ball 'stopped flipping' for a second but I have never seen one with an actual shot of a change of trajectory.

I am stumpped. I have seen it about 20 times now and I do not know. It seems unlikely Cundiff could have missed both Lucas and Peppers with the way the play developed, it looked like he kicked it right into peppers. but it still went up and wide. It was long enough for sure.

I just do not know. I am glad they called it the way they did and backed it up with replay. But I would not bet a penny on wether it did or did not touch him. Guess this, like who shot Kennedy and wheres Hoffa, will be answered by God when you meet him and all is revealed.

Might have. But without conclusive evidence, it's a rather moot point. Cowboys win fair and square.

It did not look like it changed direction to me and the replay confirmed it. I was amazed with as much pressure coming up the middle that it was not blocked. I'm just glad they ran into the kicker

Before you read this, know that I watched the game and even after watching the video of the game again, I firmly supported the fact that the ball was not tipped at all by either player. However, my opinion has now changed.

I know a billion "experts" are going to chime in and disagree, but based on what I found out by breaking the video of the kick down frame by frame, I firmly believe he tipped it .. he just didn't get enough of it to make a noticable difference. I do not believe the call could have been overturned without extensive frame break down like I did so the ruling on the field was the only possible outcome.

If you watch the laces on the football, you will see the ball shift a little to the right just as it passes his hand. It just worked out for the Cowboys that when the ball glanced off his hand, it was at the absolute perfect angle that it had to be to minimize the deflection.

If you go back and put the kick from the moment it leaves Cundiff's foot until the moment it passes the line of scrimage into a video loop, watch it over and over in repeat mode, you will notice the slight deflection in the ball using the laces as the directional guide.

Don't believe me? Doesn't really matter .. the ruling on the field says it was not touched, the running into the kicker penalty stood and the Cowboys won the game so it doesn't really matter.

Lets say their 'runblock impaired' and are gunna get some help in the off-season and comeback much improved. To say that can't run block is sooooo negitive and final.

IT doesn't matter. You are only allowed to touch the kicker IF any part of your body came into contact with the ball first. BOTH Peppers and Lucas hit Cundiff. Unless the football acted as a pinball, and hit both of them prior to continuing on Cundiff's bogus trajectory, one of them violated the rule.

It was obviously VERY slight...But I think it was touched.

Now having said that...I really didn't think there was conclusive evidence that it was touched...But you never know how the refs are going to see things.

6. A member of the receiving team may not run into or rough a kicker who kicks from behind his line unless contact is:

(a) Incidental to and after he had touched ball in flight.

(b) Caused by kicker’s own motions.

(c) Occurs during a quick kick, or a kick made after a run behind the line, or after kicker recovers a loose ball on the ground. Ball is loose when kicker muffs snap or snap hits ground.

(d) Defender is blocked into kicker.

The penalty for running into the kicker is 5 yards. For roughing the kicker: 15 yards, an automatic first down and disqualification if flagrant.
