...on that incomplete lateral that fortunately rolled out of bounds? Romo threw it too soon, but it looked like maybe Glenn had planned on catching the ball, planting his feet and throwing down field. In fact, the reason he didn't see the ball coming is because he was looking away, maybe to see if his intended target was getting open. It would've been a nice trick to pull out of the bag, if it worked. Of course, Patrick Crayton is the one who used to be a QB, so it would make more sense to try such a play with him. Anyway, just my take on that play.

It looked like it to me just because of how the play was developing several yards beyond the line of scrimmage to be any sort of successful pass play without a trick.

Yeah we have been running that bubble screen to Glenn for weeks now and I think they were setting it up for sure.

Thats the 1st thing I thought when I saw it.

It would be more of a giveaway to the D if it were Pat..but if you saw Terry's other few passes over the last few years, you know he can heave it downfield.

Too bad it got muffed.

Isn't it amazing that we haven't tried any trick plays (that I remember) since Romo took over. With Bledsoe we tried an occasional flea flicker or reverse. In fact, it was more than on occasion. But with Romo at the helm, we have eased up on the trickery. And with pretty good results I might add.

I dunno....it was cut off.

In this case, they might be getting a raise.

Good question. I wish someone would ask BP. At that point in the game we didn't need to get cute just run our base offense. It almost backfired on us big time.

Actually, I don't think he was going to throw the ball. Glenn thought the pass went forward, so he never even thought about chasing the fumble out of bounds. Had Glenn knew it was a backwards pass, so he could then throw it, you know he would have been hustling after the loose ball, which he knew was a fumble, if that was indeed the play call.

I think it was just a bad pass by Romo or Glenn took the route a little more inside.
