Was there a single play action pass?

I don't remember a single play action pass in the New England game. I kept yelling for one. They knew we were running on first down and they were stacking the box. I kept screaming for them to get them to over pursue and burn their butts with a play action pass, but it just wasn't happening. Is it because Weeden can't handle play action? I wanted to see some play action, and maybe even a rare fea flicker.

I believe there was one on a third and one. A roll out and Terrance looked to have some slight seperation and of course Weeden missed him.

There was but it didn't matter. The problem is that you have to be able to threaten with the run before play action is effective. New England sold out on taking away the short to intermediate. They wanted Weedon and the WRs to beat them deep and we didn't do that. We could have run play action all day and the Pats would have just continued to cut of Beasley on the short stuff and doubled up on Wit.

They ran one that I can remember. I was saying in a game thread that they should try a play action pass on 1st down at least and they actually did but was incomplete of course

the problem with play action is that weeden is so slow at going through his progressions, the play action would hinder that even more to where he probably would have no chance

yup...his brain cant keep up with the quickness required of play action

What defense is going to have respect for weeden and whatever weekly..(whose turn is it this week) running back.

I think they lost it late last year. Why fake out someone when you can just run over them....oh wait....

Dont remember any- I also dont remember seeing a counter or a reverse or something that would have gotten the offense going.

This is two weeks in a row now with the most vanilla playcalling ever

I'd love the first play to be a playaction 25+ yard attempt. The Giants secondary is pretty bad. Set the tone early.

This coaching staff has about 10 plays they use over and over and over. I've seen a few play actions and one pitch running play. Outside of that it's the same crap.

Who needs those ?

Yes. They ran it on second down after a first down run garnered minimal yardage. That is the most inept time to run it, especially when you run it over 80% of the time on first down.

We honestly would have been better just re-signing Tashard Choice, and running the wildcat every play. #tulious

In the last three games, I can only recall of one play action from Weeden which ended in a 67 yard catch for Butler. It obviously makes too much sense and works too well for us to continue it.

Probably not a good idea for Weeden to be turning his back to the defense and then having to find his recievers, read coverage and make a quick decision. He has enough trouble when he can see the defense fromthe snap.

The only exception is the bootlegs where they limit the portion of the field he has to read and makes for quick reads and easier throws. He can't even do that right though because his fakes are so bad, the defenses spot it immediately. That led to a bad play Sunday.

They did PA on one attempt that I can remember. On one play, we PA on 2nd and long, as if anyone thought we'd be running (we're predictable). Then Weeden basically checked down after the PA. Disgusting......

Garrett keeps trying to replay 2014 games even though the main cast of players is completely different.

I think he went to Simpleton not Princeton.

Why run play-action when you can attack an eight-man front with an inept running game instead?

I'm not enamored with the coaching choices we've made with Romo out, but I think the reason they've avoided doing certain things is they would rather hope the running game can break something than rely on Weeden to make plays.
