Was this "D" just an aberration?

I always thought the D was well off, but lately they've been as bad or worse than the offense.

It's simple. Cant play a defense that's designed to feature LBs when the majority of those players either cant play or dont know what they're doing. It's a disaster.

scott fujita has really dissappointed me i thought he would be a steal with that trade. the guy cant make a play for the life of him

i really hate the 3-4, all it does is eliminate LBs from making plays, and we are seeing it the last few weeks

We miss Dat's leadership at LB. That guy flat out knew the other teams offense and was a leader. You can't replace that.

Agreed Fujita has been below average.
Burnett can't even get on the field.
Shanle is a backup at best.
Ware is locked into a rookie funk, Merriman is much better at this point hands down. (Not to say that Ware will or will not get better next year.)
James is OK.

Maybe Nguyen and Singleton ,even as small as they are according to some , are missed alot more than originally expected.

A coach can only do so much. You need a leader on the field our front 7 probably lacks that.

But the coach has to put them in a scheme where they can make plays, regardless of leadership

I'll say it like I have lately, once the offensive line gets their hands our a member of our defensive line, IT'S OVER. Our defensive line has suddenly become inept at shedding any type of block until the point it is almost unbelievable.

I think they've been in position they just missed tackles that first half. And they look flat on defense. Give Washington credit. They flat out outcoached us all around. And they aren't a talented team but they executed their gameplan. We didn't. But the coaching isn't the problem. If you thing coaching is the problem go back in time 5 years. We were unprepared today but it was because we were out coached not because we were badly coached.
