If Shanahan harbors some type of racial animosity towards black quarterbacks, why did he trade for McNabb in the first place?

It's only racist when it counts against a black player

I'd expect this crap from our local media, but not the fanboys over in Washington. But guys like Feinstein and Wilbon aren't really Commanders beat writers.

It's really the media's ongoing apology to Donovan after the Limbaugh fiasco (in which Limbaugh was really insulting the media instead of Donovan or black QB's or black people. I don't like Limbaugh at all, but the fact of the situations was he insulted the media, not black athletes).

I don't like Dan Snyder, but I don't see him as a racist and I think Shanny would play just about anybody he thought could win for him. But, this is what happens when the media is never accountable and can cry racism whenever they feel like it.

Actually, the Washington post has an ongoing feud with Dan Snyder. He bypasses them and goes through his own news network and they blast everything Commanders related and condemn him every chance they get.

I know Jenkins (who is pretty fair, IMO) takes him to task quite a bit. Wilbon has a weird homer-ism for the Skins even though he's a Bears fan, too. Kornheiser is a Commanders fanboy. Feinstein I didn't even know that he wrote for the Post.

But comparing the WP and their reporting to the Skins to any of the papers in Dallas with the Cowboys (outside of the San Antonio Express)....it's just not even close. This type of garbage happens quite a bit in Dallas.

I think it's irresponsible when Dallas beat writers do it and I think it's irresponsible what they are doing here in Washington. And I grew up a McNabb fan as he played for SU, which I had season tickets to for 20 years.

But even McNabb is dismissing this as racism.

the media is accountable to no one and that is and has been a huge problem.

Why is McNabb such a flashpoint for racism stuff. I mean Tennessee benches and starts and re-benches Vince Young every other week--for old white guy at that--and nobody mentions race, nor should they. The idea that a racist would choose to make his living in the NFL these days is stupid. In most occupations minorities make up a tiny fraction of the workforce. In professional sports they make up a huge majority.

Though, he does coach for the Commanders. Maybe, it's just the culture of the team wearing off on him. Last team to desegregate...the most blatantly racist team name in sports...benching the black quarterback. It all makes sense now. Michael Wilbon is a clairvoyant. :D
