Only nominally. In practice, the draft is a total crap-shoot, wherever you may sit in the pecking order. For every Ryan Leaf, there is a Brock Purdy. How many top-tier draft picks have the Detroit Lions claimed over more than a half-century...with not a single Super Bowl appearance to show for it? Hey, they may get there this year...with their arguably best player having been drafted in the fourth round (112th overall).

It seems the real business of roster-building, as practiced by the more consistently-competitive teams in the League, is done through free agency. For whatever reason, the Cowboys' front office has in recent years shown little interest in seriously engaging that market...with predictably-dismal results.

No he didnt. He made exactly the right tackle. The LB (Kendricks) had backup support on the QB but whiffed badly.

Thats one way to play that option.

We are so lucky that we lost that game. It could have easily gone the other way.

I didn't pick it, but 2-7 at home and 5-3 on the road is a head scratcher after last season's home record.
