Thats our guy!
Yeah, looking forward to checking him out, Read a great article about him recently but I have no idea how to paste or link articles lol.He has to have a good showing at the combine. Only 6 games of good production before his injury.
40 total college games, with 9 total sacks. I don't know how many games he started in the previous years. He had 5 sacks in 7 games in 2016.He has to have a good showing at the combine. Only 6 games of good production before his injury.
I know. he only had like 6 games of good production before his injury. Hes gonna have to show that hes explosive and that he has the strength to handle big nfl OTs for teams to take serious looks at him. He could be a mid round steal.40 total college games, with 9 total sacks. I don't know how many games he started in the previous years. He had 5 sacks in 7 games in 2016.

Is their more tape out their from this season then just against Arizona? everything i have read on him was that he was having a breakout season before injury. Then i saw a video of him replacing bulk with actual muscle and then a snippet of him benching 225 40 times in a row.He looks good in highlight videos, but in full game reviews he looked like a late round pick at best. He does not look as quick or fast as some bigger pass rushers. He does look like a guy that's spent a lot of time in the weight room.
His build and strength relative to his size makes me think MLB when I watch him. He would be a great run defending 4-3 MLB. I did see him drop in coverage a few times, but not enough to really evaluate his ability in that area.

I can see what you mean switching him to MLB though. kinda like a poor mans Jamie Collins.
oh i know. Their are running backs in this years draft that are about the same size as him. Hes gonna need to blow up the combine for him to move out his current 7th-udfa draft grade. He might develop into a good pass rusher, but with several question marks, I don't see him being drafted high.
Limited sample size (Only played 7 games in 2016).
Limited production prior to 2016.
Coming off injury.
Size (estimate 6-2, 255)
Athleticism - Smallish pass rusher need better speed numbers than bigger pass rushers.
Apparently he was leading college football in Pass rush production at the time of injury according pff or one of those deals
Possible to end up with a 5th round pick as part of a romo trade. Before his injury, U dub collected 24 sacks and ranked number 1 defense in nation. After his injury, Huskies only produced 12 sacks total. His coaches credited their early pass rush success on Mathis. He's a 4-6 round pick to me. Too bad we don't have a 5th.

oh no. wouldn't be just a 5th. maybe a 2nd and a 5th. although i would prefer getting a day 2 pick as well as a potential high conditional pick for 2018.Only thing more disappointing than trading Romo for an end of draft pick is releasing him outright.
