I didn't get to watch the game Sunday but I was able to record it on the NFL channel game replay last night and watch it last night and today.

My take on the game is a lot different after watching it from what it was reading this forum. The Cowboys played a very good game right up until Dak threw that stupid pick 6 with 4:30 to go. I am not saying the offense, or Dak, was great, but it was way better than I derived from the comments on this board.

Dak made a few bad throws and there were a few bad routes, but on the other hand, I saw some decent pass blocking and even some holes for the running game. Putting Connor Williams in the backfield made a difference. He does a good job from that position, better than McGovern did when he played the same role.

The game was not close and should not have been that close at the end. Dak gifted them 6 points and he never should have done that. Whoever called that play at that time should be kicked in the nuts. It was second down. Run the ball get Washington's time outs and if necessary punt on 4rd down. No need to put the ball in the air and stop the clock or worse - give Washington the ball back - or 6 points. Really dumb and I think it was Dak who changed the play there.

Washington had already given up in the 4th quarter. They were running the football down 19 points midway through the 4th quarter. Dallas sort of went soft too when the sat Parsons and Zeke. This makes that Dak throw even worse.

If Dak did not throw that pick 6, and they just ran the ball, I think the after game commentary would have been very different.

One last thought. I have seen Dak get tackled from behind by DTs too many times this year. Payne dropped him for a sack Sunday and he is not known for his blazing speed. Dak is not running because he can't. He doesn't have the acceleration after his injuries.

The problem with reading on here is that as soon as Sims caught the touchdown, we all knew it would become a closer game than it needed to be.

On Daks pick, you can tell he is nursing his calf still. Same play call against New England and he throws off one foot. Him stopping, setting his feet allowed Holcomb to make the play.

I think right now Dallas is more big play or nothing, there is no sense of rhythm on offense. We got to get back to moving the chains and controlling the ball much better. Our 3rd down offense is not converting. My own personal view is I think Cowboys need to get back to take what the defense gives you and look for the big play off of it. Get something going so that there is some semblance of a rhythm to the offense. Defense continue setting getting the ball back into the hands of offense with good field position we should be hanging big number on opposing team. Washington game we didn't despite the chances defense gave to the offense.

I mostly agree with your assessment of the game. The criticism on this board was overblown. I saw a good game being played by the Cowboys until about 5 minutes left in the game when Dak threw the pick 6. Then the defense got the ball back by forcing the WFT QB to fumble and the Cowboys recovered the ball. The Dallas offense netted 35 carries for 122 yards rushing despite Pollard being out and Zeke playing injured. Dak did make some goood passes despite the haters crucifying him. And our defense was excellent. I look forward to that group performing as well or better going forward. I can see them giving Kyler Murry more than he can overcome.

I didn't. Dallas offense score 1 TD on the day, the rest were FG and of course a defensive TD. Defense was giving the offense every chance to bury Washington, that score really should have been more lopsided than it was. I'm thrilled with the win, but I also know this offense needs to have better production especially when you are being given so many opportunities to put up more points

@Creeper
Dak is not running because he can't? Well thank you Dr. Oz.

I think is more like Dak is not running because some are telling him not too. They're in his head.

By can't I meant he cannot escape even DTs. When he attempts to scramble they tackle him from behind. The old Dak would shake those and run past the DTs. Obviously he can run, but not like he used to. And it doesn't mean it is permanent either. Maybe he just needs to spend the offseason strengthening his legs a bit.

This week, Prescott has taken time after practice to throw with his receivers. According to NFL Next Gen Stats data, the Cowboys receivers and tight ends are tied for the third-fewest yards of separation on targets (2.84).

He thought the DT fell when he spun around him. That's why he was sacked from behind on that one play. I don't think there's anything wrong with Dak, physically. The whole offense is in a slump and Dak's running could currently help a lot. But I think someone in the FO is telling him not too.

Let's talk Giants game. They are saying the Cowboys could get as many as 10 sacks in that game. :D
