having tact doesn’t mean sugarcoating it just means being respectful.

like it would be rude of me to say “you’re widely considered an idiot, what makes you think your posts will be received differently this time?”
You gotta say it like it is playboi!!!

So you'd rather the reporters sugarcoat things??? I like the reporters who tell the truth.
No, what I’m saying is phrase it in a non-*** hole sort of way.

Instead of saying, “Philly didn’t want you, Indy didn’t want you” (which is an inflammatory way to say it)… maybe say, “You were traded from two different franchises”.

I also acknowledged in my first post that I might be in the minority by feeling that way.

Had it been some schmuck like Jamarcus Russell - a guy who didn’t work at his craft - I might would have worded it like this reporter… but Wentz is a classy guy who has worked hard but it just hadn’t worked out for him.

I don’t think Wentz is good but I would handle him with some semblance of class.

When a reporter asks Jerry Jones a tough question, Cowboys fans applaud that reporter.

Why shouldn’t a Washington reporter be allowed to ask Wentz tough questions?

Wentz actually handled the questions like a pro and gave the right answers. It’s the team president who ended up looking like a clown.
Have to agree with you.

Hopefully Wentz threatened him after the interview. No reason that anyone has to put up with nonsense. Every action gets a reaction, if people were aware of that maybe they would be a little more respectful. He should have called him The Fake News Media!

No issue with the reporter asking tough questions but saying the Eagles got rid of him and the Colts got rid of him is asking for trouble. The reporter could’ve put it another way than appearing to try and incite Wentz.

Wentz asked some tough but fair questions in an interview...

And the team president, a guy who collects paychecks from Dan Snyder, has the nerve to call the reporter “unprofessional” while threatening his access to the team...

Reminder, Cowboys nation: we’re still MUCH better off than these losers.

We think we got it bad here in Dallas.
Deadskins gotta be the worst organization in the NFL.

You have zero reason to defend yourself.
Your comment was fair and justified.

He can ask the same questions in a non-butthole way.
Journalists are supposed to be professionals, not jerks looking to snag an emotional response.

Wouldn't have worded it like that for Russell either. There should be a measure of professionalism in a field with a history of it. Note that history looks backwards because it is eroding fast. This reporter is trying to tap into the rising jerk culture in society. You've had a front row seat here to its effects.

There have been QB's in the past that forced the vast majority to eat crow.

Jim Plunket

Trent Dilfer

Doug Williams

All high draft picks that were considered busts and left for dead. All of them settling for jobs as a backup only to be thrust into the starting lineup once again. However, they all responded by leading their teams to Super Bowl championships. At the very least, they acquired enough experience not to screw things up.

Carson Wentz's career is not over and I suggest postponing the funeral until the body is cold.

That interview looked like it could’ve very easily turned into a Jim Rome versus Jim Everett situation. Lol That could’ve gotten ugly real quick but Wentz was able to keep his composure. The guy interviewing him sounded like a real jerk.
Agree with you 100 percent.
Wentz took the napalm out of the reporters' hands by answering calmly, truthfully and with tact.

Let me get this straight, someone took offense to the questions asked in what you posted? I didn't see a single thing wrong with those questions. Are we coming to the point where pro athletes are treated like actors, and the only thing you can ask them is why they're so great?
