With a "DUH" look on his face all the time.

It's funny because just 2 weeks ago you guys were preaching "Good teams find ways to win." Now it just "The 'Stinks pulled out a lucky win". lmao
Well, at least you've admitted it. Regardless why, it is what it is, an ineptness.skinsngibbs4life;1724375 said:Of course we were inept.

Area51;1723691 said:Considering that 3/5 of his offensive lineman is out and 2 backup were playing hurt in this game I expected the game plan to be conservative and for him to not lose the game. And that what he did. Our play calls were "Run, Run, Pass" how do you expect a QB to put up numbers?

Area51;1724236 said:It's call having 3/5 of your offensive line injured and 2 backup playing on 1 leg. And the Arizona front 4 is pretty damn good with Dockett and Alan Branch.
Al Saunder admits that he was gameplanning conservatively and letting the defense win the game.
skinsngibbs4life;1724375 said:Of course we were inept. Take any team in the league and take away 3 of there starters on the o-line and see how well perform.
This team is going to have to rely on the defense for another month or two until they get randy thomas back. I just cant see this offense performing without him in there.
silverbear;1723491 said:I wonder which day this week it will be that we read an article in the Washington Post about how "poised" Jason Campbell was as he went 12 of 18 for all of 95 yards passing (87 net yards)...
The Post has cranked out a series of such articles, lauding the "progress" Campbell is making this year, even as his quarterback rating stands at 78.5... seems they're grading on some kind of curve, much like Skins fans do...
Mr. Grundle;1725345 said:Actually, now that you mention it.....Campbell was very poised. I can just imagine certain other QB's being on the verge of tears if they were in his situation. Anyone actually watching the games objectively would realize that Jason Campbell has been the ONLY positive thing about the Commanders offense this year.
He's lost 3 starting offensive lineman, and now even the backups are playing hurt. The run game has suffered greatly. The coaches are calling horrible and conservative plays. Wide receivers are dropping balls at an alarming rate....usually on 3rd down. The kid is getting absolutely no help.
12-18 for 95 yards was a result of scared play-calling (screens, dump offs), and players dropping balls that would have extended drives. Campbell didn't really play bad....he executed what was given to him pretty well.
Campbell was not the problem. The O-line, the wide receivers, the running backs, and the coaches are more to blame for that putrid offensive performance.

You ask any Commander fan about Campbell and I'll bet you the first word that comes out of their mouth is Poised.....
Poise blah, blah, blah......
silverbear;1725519 said:You're gonna be REALLY pissed of when, in a year or two's time, Campbell is sent packing, and the Skins have to go back to the drawing board to find their "quarterback of the future"...
Bottom line, Campbell is STILL nothing more than a dink and dunker (his top WR is tied for 34th in receptions, his 2nd WR is tied for 69th, no other WR has more than 4 catches, and no WR has even caught a TD pass in the Skins' first 6 games), and his quarterback rating is STILL under 80... after 13 starts, we're no longer talking about a small sample size here, the numbers are starting to paint a picture...
A picture that involves the Skins averaging 183.2 yards per game passing with Campbell as the starter... you're not gonna win many games in today's NFL if you can't even pass for 3000 yards in a 16 game season...
Yes, part of the reason for Campbell's subpar numbers involves a banged-up offensive line and subpar receivers... but part of it lies in the way the Skins refuse to let Jason take any chances at all, apparently terrified of the mistakes a young QB will make when you do so... but if you ever wish to turn that young QB into a polished, winning NFL QB, you HAVE to let him suffer through his growing pains, you HAVE to let him make his mistakes...
Which is why I say by the time the Skins rectify their problems on the OL and in the WR corps, Campbell will be on his way out of DC, after 3 or 4 years of relative futility... he might go on to become a decent NFL-caliber QB at his next stop, but I don't see it happening in Washington...

and the only people that say he isnt is *suprise*, cowboy fans. Do you think it is a fluke that every announcer comments about it every week?

I live in Maryland.
I love to listen to epsn radio on the way home from work. I suffer listening to John Riggins - but at least it's entertaining...
The funny thing is how wishy-washy the media down here is about Campbell. I remember Riggins saying that Campbell is absolutely a top 5 QB - all while the Commanders were winning games. He even said he'd take Campbell over Romo. LOL.
Just the other day - after the Commanders barely won against Arizona - he did a complete reversal - saying how he doesn't look poised in the pocket...
That was extremely funny.

whoop-de-friggin dooooo.... an announcer said it so it must be true? Most of them are hacks with an agenda.
I don't need them to tell me anything. I can make my own decisions based on what I see!

The bottom line is that a quarterback with a rating under 80 is not a particularly good quarterback... the bottom line is the Skins currently rank 25th in the NFL in passing offense, which tells you all you need to know about their passing game, and their quarterback... especially when you consider they haven't exactly been lining up against the league's better pass defenses; the Cards are up to 6th in the NFL in pass defense, but that's a significant jump this week after holding the Skins to 87 net yards passing (prior to that game, they were allowing an average of 212.3 yards per game, which would rank them 16th in the league this week, meaning the Skins game jumped them 10 spots in the rankings)... the Giants are 13th in pass defense, the Dolphins are 14th, the Eagles are 18th, the Packers are 22nd and the Lions are 30th...
The Skins have played a succession of average to rather bad pass defenses, and are still averaging under 190 yards per game passing... I can't imagine that any Skins fan is even close to content with the production they're getting from their passing game; hell, we're six games into the season, and you guys STILL haven't had a WR catch a TD pass...
And some of you Skins fans try to tell me that Jason throws a really good deep ball... LOL...
