Watch Spencer closely next game

this guy has absolutely no counter move once engaged. Watched him on half dozen plays just get stood and and quit. Dont know what happend to him mentally once he hit the NFL...but he is NOT the same player he was in collge. I was probably biggest supporter of drafting him and basically penciled him in as ROY but wow...this guy has regressed. I have DVR the game will and look closer at him specifically but in my opinion...he didnt compete yesterday.

I think he will become a very good player, but the one thing I have noticed when he tackles is that he does not seem to wrap up with his arms. He tends to just throw his shoulder into the player without wrapping him up.

Honestly though, he can work on his counter moves and his style is more to eye the QB so he doesn't try to turn the corner a lot for fear of the QB breaking out of the pocket past his hole.

But to say he's regressed or he's not playing well is to not know what you are watching. He's not the same pass rusher as Ellis or Ware but he's a complete player.

Please dont sit here and say that that isn't a pass-rush. Just because he didnt get a sac doesn't mean he isn't rushing properly.

I haven't been sold on Spencers overall ability as a linebacker and yesterday I came away impressed and I finally saw the potential there.

I've never really worried about his ability to rush the passer and it is still not a worry for me.

I think the original poster is over-reacting. I mean if you really wanted to you could have a fit about the way Ware played too.
