Watch surveillance video outside Douglas during school shooting

Solid point. This seems to be a common thing.

I just took an "Active Shooter" training for the campus I work at and there were a few interesting facts that most civilians either don't know or ignore. One being the actual number of people killed via a school shooting vs. heroin, for example. The numbers are staggering, yet no outcry to eliminate it. VERY few people will ever encounter a school shooting scenario, yet the media sensationalizes them.

Huh, why the hell would heroin deaths come up in training for an active shooter?

Is the shooter shooting people up with heroin in that scenario?

Yeah everybody is focused on the “Single Coward” but FOUR Cops didn’t engage the “Shooter.”

I thought it was reported that the officer in question got on the horn and told everyone to stay away from the building?

It was to illustrate how the bloated number of heroin related deaths goes unheard and a rather small amount of school shooting deaths get sensationalized. People are demonstrating and rallying vs the wrong things.

Sheriff Israel is really a PO U name it, the guy thinks he has done a masterful job and bears no responsibility as his men had all the training yada yada yada.. Yo buddy, coaches take the fall for under-performing teams all the freaking time. The guy should have been let go yesterday. It still may happen, But at least his political ambitions have been shot to hell.

I know it's off point,but is anyone else into recording surveillance tapes of and investigating themselves,or is that just a me thing? Probably the latter,but thought I'd run it up the flag pole anyways.

He didn't say stand down, he said stay clear.

My thoughts are that people are acting like this was a 30 minute ordeal when the whole thing took a few minutes. He likely wanted some time to figure out what the hell was going on rather than charging in like Rambo, and before he knew it, all the damage had been done and the killer was on the run.

It's a human response. Unfortunately, it just isn't one an officer can afford to have in that scenario without looking like a coward.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that the Police do not have a constitutional duty to protect the public. More reason for supporting the NRA to keep our 2nd amendment alive!

You call for back up and then you engage in a normal scenario. You never say “Stay clear.” It’s your job to do the clearing, not be cleared out.

The reality of the situation though is that they were told in advance that there would be a Drill in which blanks were to be fired. This is where mass confusion came from initially...

That's just it. Wut did he do,and when did he do it? Don't know,but I'm getting close to cracking this case,and when I do,I'm gonna try and put myself away for good.

I attend a small school college and a couple of years ago I recorded a student and cop chase up until the officer finally tackles the kid. I did not know why the chase happened or what it was over. I find out the kid brought a loaded gun to the campus and exposed himself to a couple of the girls by the science department. The kid was I believe off his meds. The weird thing was that I got to school early that day and walked by this kid at 7:30 in the morning on the third floor of the science building and still can’t forget seeing his facial expression and how alert I became off the expression alone even all the way down the hall. He smiled like his face was cemented in that position and I said to myself if not yelled to myself “who the hell is that happy at 7:30 in the morning”. I wanna say I tried to not make eye contact with him but mentally I couldn’t hide it and my eyes became a dead give away. I kinda but not really joke about it which is if that kid wanted to make my college national news famous then I wouldn’t be here to watch it. The video of the chase was on my previous iphone and I do not think I have it but If I get it cause I emailed it at one point I will upload the chase.
