I was in the process of getting some video clips to make a highlight video of Dez. First off, he was spectacular when he played but you all already know that. But it also raised the question, "Shouldn't we draft an offensive lineman to protect 3 or 4 of our best players on our team?"
I am all for Peterson at #9 or for even a small trade up. The man is a stud and should be our #1 target. But we know the biggest hole on this team is on the right side of our line. What I am suggesting is that if we want our player-makers to dominate like they can, we need to upgrade our offensive line before we worry about anything else.
But what player improves us the most this year? What about 5 years from now? I like Tyron Smith as the best long-term solution, but I also like Carimi and where you can get him. I also really like Mike Pouncey who has experience at 4 positions, not to mention what his twin brother has done.
So I guess if I had to choose who I would target after Peterson, it would be Pouncey. I can see a small trade down and picking up our next stud lineman. That's my useless take after watching some incredible clips from our last first round pick.
