The NFL Net guys really love Costanzo. They have used him for examples on every drill so far. Talking him up big time.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's the second OT off the board after Smith.

They were also talking up Carimi early on; now not so much. But they do keep emphasising that Iowa, Wisconsin, BC have such top O line coaches that the players that come out are all well skilled and schooled.

I really like Costanzo, and I wouldn't be upset at all if we end up with him in a trade-down.

I'm falling in love with Nate Solder's upside.

nate solder looks like he plays to high. from watching the highlights of the senior bowl he got beat twice because he failed to get low and move is feet. he looks like a right tackle his first couple of years then maybe a left tackle in the future. i would not be upset if we could get him in the second round but knowing he probaly go in the late teens to twentys in the first round.

i wish smith would have worked out today. now i will not be able to tell what he looks like until the draft.

Solder seems to have the "look" of a Dallas OT based on his size. The questions for him are about technique (playing too high) and whether he would have the functional strength to play RT right off the bat. But from the pure physical dimensions and athleticism, I could see the Cowboys liking him.

He does play too high and doesn't have good feet which allows defenders to get under him and around him despite his athleticism.

This is a case study in comparing combine workouts in spandex versus actual game tape.

Watch the game tape. Solder's body of work just isn't all that impressive. Too high, no anchor, weak. Castanzo's good but looks alittle stiff, almost alittle clumsy at times. Mayock played for BC that's one reason he's all over his jock.

Give me Carimi/Sherrod and Wisneiwski/Pouncey and I'll be one happy camper.

Should say i don't know much about Smith but him not working out here at the combine can't help his cause.

I doubt Solder is there in the 2nd round. I think he's showing something but he does have issues with his technique. He clearly has excellent athletic ability. I watched him in both the kick slide drill and rap block drill and he was as good or better then any of the guys out there. He needs coaching, no question but his feet are excellent.

Solder needs work on his basics. Not sure if you can really get a guy to change his basics this late. It would take a lot of work.

His feet are tremendous. The talking heads all raved about his feet and athleticism. He needs to coaching to get lower, but the guy is without a doubt the best tackle at the combine. Huge ceiling

Costanzo is a more finished player but is about as good as he will get, they say.

Either one would be a great pick up. Solder can play RT now and move to LT if needed. Costanza is RT.

He is still learning the position. He is a converted TE!

Watching the drills today, he is head and shoulders above anyone else out there.

Actually, as I watch him Burm, his only issue that I can see is that he plays to upright. His pad level is not great. Teach him to play with more knee bend and he's got Pro Bowl ability.

I agree, trading back for Castanzo or Carimi is the best thing

His feet are poor, that's the irony with Solder. As I said he doesn't redirect well which is why he gets beaten a lot on double moves and spin moves. Can all these things be coached up? Possibly. His game play doesn't lie. I'm not overly impressed with anything a lineman does in one-on-one drills against cones and blocking pads.

You are basing this on the Senior Bowl then. Guy gave up like 5 sacks in two years at LT. Sounds to me like he doesn't get beat a lot.

You are quoting what you have read from the nay sayers. The guy is going to be good.

He needs strength and to lower his pads/bend his knees. Other than that, he is the complete package.
