Waters?

Don't know about that. I value him more for his leadership and experience that he can instill in the young guys more than his playing ability. I do think he's capable of playing at a higher level than Bernadeau.

Well he was a top 10 guard according to PFF. I mean I don't know if that's really true but the fact is he played VERY well. His presence improved the entire O-Line. It wasn't just his play.

Fans, I think it's time to move on from Brian Waters
Even the words of The Queen cannot stop one of these threads. It's like Randy Moss/ Joey Galloway/ Quincy Carter/ Terrell Owens/ Roy L Williams/ Roy E Williams/ Brady Quinn/Johnny Manziel/Martellus "High & Tight" Bennett all over again!

*Flees thread while still able* :)

Who else wants to see an end to Waters related threads?
I don't want him or Orton back. Both are not fully committed to the team, they can get lost.

Saying that, I can understand why the organization is playing a more neutral position on both players, in case they are needed due to an early injury in camp.

Dudes a Beast but at this point he's a progress stopper....

I agree. He played very well last year, but Leary needs the playing time and Martin does as well. Waters should have been signed years ago when he went to the Pats. Dallas needed him then.

Waters never even got the surgery to fix his triceps injury. He's not coming back.

At this point Waters is a progress stopper, but would be a nice addition if someone on the inside goes down during the season. He's not to thrilled with TC and still has to get the operation in order to even be an option for this scenario.

What is the deal? Seems like we have a Waters "Would you bring him back?" thread about every other week.

Sorry for setting a few of you off by this thread. I couldn't locate the search functionality to see if the question had been recently asked (it's probably there but I didn't look hard enough.) I'll start a thread about Quincy Carter next week. :)

I don't recall the exact injury. If he never got it treated and surgery was the only option, then, yes, he's done.

Yes.

Because he can add a dimension to training Martin.

He can be a leader.

He can be a great back up in the event either Martin or Leary get dinged.

He can fill in if Free spits the bit again and you have to move Martin outside.

There is no downside for a one year contract. He sits as the rookie learns, unless....

And the unless is the point.

What bothers me is referring to Leary and Bernadeau as pretty good. Waters still had a different level of strength last year. I don't think you slow Leary's development to a point where he's not going to be effective. Does anyone feel that Leary has a chance to be very good this season... even dominant on occasions? If so, I'm not interested in Waters. I'm not interested in pretty good if we have another high power option for a good price.
Leary was terrific in the 2nd half of last season.

Jonathan Vilma was diagnosed with the same condition as Leary when he was in high school. He has now played in colllege and 10 years in the NFL.

Waters required surgery before he can play again. The last report was that he had not had it.

I do not know what is more tiring.

The threads suggesting we get Alex Tanney back or this.

Waters never even got the surgery to fix his triceps injury. He's not coming back.

That's pretty absurd for you to say. Why wouldn't he get surgery to get it fixed REGARDLESS whether he wants to play or not? If he didn't get surgery that means he didn't need to have surgery. I'm not sure why you take this leap that because he didn't have surgery that must mean he's done playing football. He obviously didn't need surgery otherwise he would have gotten it instead of running around with a torn triceps his entire life or run around with a torn triceps way longer than he has to if it somehow heals by itself.
