I kind of zoned out towards the end of the game, I just checked the stats and saw Watkins had a catch. Was that some sort of trick play or was he actually lined up at WR?

I feel another WR conversion project coming and I'm not sure I like it.

As a side, a little disappointing Miles got shut out last night.

Looking at the play-by-play on ESPN.com, the catch came late in the 4th Qtr.

3rd and 9 at OAK 38(6:15) S.McGee pass to P.Watkins to OAK 24 for 14 yards (J.Bowie).

However, their box score shows OL Greg Isdaner with a sack....in the 1st Qtr, yet there's no mention of Brooking's sack.

1st and 10 at OAK 21(5:09) J.Russell sacked at OAK 10 for -11 yards (G.Isdaner).

I'll try and watch the game again tonight and see if either of those things actually happened.

Usually D Backs are there because they cannot catch. If they have speed and quickness they would be WRs if they could catch the ball.

They didn't. They gave Brooking's sack to Isdaner, somehow. And Watkins didn't play on offense. Maybe they were thinking #85 Ogletree?

And to the Count, I don't know that I'd say Miles got "shut out". He dropped a skinny post right in his hands that would've gone for big yardage.

Watkins should be cut along with 1/2 of our subs last night: he's been around long enough and hasn't shown a thing: same with Carp and Brown: all three need to go.

It was Manuel Johnson who caught the pass that was credited to Pat Watkins.

Thank you both. CL, I was thinking Ogletree, as well. Since it was Johnson, that's even more strange. How do they confuse a 5.11 WR with a 6.5 DB?

If I remember correctly Parcells wanted to use him in red zone situations. I for one would welcome the conversion. Watkins is 6'5 and has 4.45 speed. He would be a Plaxico type receiver, although I don't think it would happen and the box score is likely mistaken.
