The Cowboys are off now until late July when they're start training camp.

We have some random thoughts about what we've seen this offseason.

*The best player this offseason was Dez Bryant. He seems unstoppable at times during practices and we can count on one hand the number of times where a pass was broken up by a defender. Bryant is stronger than he was last season and said he's becoming more of a student of the game. He wants to make sure his techniques are down and while he made plays on just his athletic ability in the past, he wants to be defenders on the small things. That finger of his that was fractured last year? No problems, Bryant is catching the ball with no issues. When other veterans are getting a day off of rest, none is needed for Bryant, which is a positive thing.

*The Cowboys backup quarterbacks looked shaky in the offseason with Tony Romo out. Kyle Orton, Nick Stephens and Dalton Williams missed open receivers too many times. The Cowboys are expected to go with just two quarterbacks in the regular season, but if something happens to Romo, you should worry about Orton. Maybe a lack of snaps, or the heat, got to him but his timing was off. The last time he got extensive snaps was in the loss to Chicago last season where he completed nine-of-10 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. After watching this offseason display, the Cowboys need to draft a quarterback.

I don't see a problem with this, especially since he is not guaranteed a spot. If he performs well, then great! we have someone to backup Romo. If not, then you release him, no biggie. The only negative I can see with him coming is the media storm that would accompany him. Hell, you're the Dallas Cowboys, you'll get through it, it's not a foreign situation.

Knowing the play book is half the battle.

Watkins thinks the Cowboys' defensive line depth isn't bad.

He must be a shill for the organization.

No Thanks!!!

What a reach, no way is VY better than Orton. How much has he struggled and how much is that media perception.

Many QBs have the arm to play. Many don't have the mental aspect to do so. If Orton can still throw the ball then he just needs snaps. It'd take me awhile to get my golf game back. Give the guy some snaps in camp and preseason games before throwing in the towel. If you think a roster spot is worth bringing in a running QB then go for it. I just don't really know the answer to that.

Orton will be fine once Pre season rolls around. I dont remember him being horrible last year, he just needs to get back in the groove. hes a bit older now, he knows theres a good chance Romo might go down and he ll be ready. He knows no NFL team will come calling, and he knows where he is in the NFL.

Just relax, back up QB was not the problem we lost the chance to go to the playoffs.

Good to hear Wilcox is visible in the secondary and makes positive plays. Nothing against Allen but I think he is just a guy and will serve best as a backup.

Bringing in Vince Young is a terrible idea up there with Adam Jones, new Coke, and edible adult diapers.

I'd rather take a chance on a 1 in 10 developmental kid from a small school than a proven NFL flameout like Young.

I would love to see VY get a chance in Dallas... He can win you some games if Romo was to get hurt.

He is really a Romo-type QB.
