Way to Step Up, Scandrick

This guy was competing for a starting job earlier this year? Gimme a break, Jenkins goes down and this guy becomes an INSTANT liability, getting flagged and burned repeatedly.

One thing is for certain -- our starting team is pretty darn good, but boy, when we lose a couple of players, it's pretty obvious that our backups suck pretty badly. Lose Jenkins, can't stop anybody. Lose Columbo, can't block anybody.

Oh well, it was a nice season while it lasted.

It's a bit easier to get into a rhythm when you've been starting week in and week out, like Jenkins. Jenkins also meets with Romo at 6AM during the week to break down the opposing QBs...there was no mention of Scandrick being there at 6AM.

Can we ever go a week where we don't attempt to tear down one player in order to build up another?

Just like Jenkins last year though you still need to be patient.

Hes still a young player and will get better every week. We gave him probably the toughest job too by guarding slot receivers.

Yes im upset with his play yesterday but he is still a talented player and there is no reason to overreact.

I think Scandrick needs some extra work on his technique more than anything else.It just seems he is just a little bit off in his coverage and that allows the completion.

I always thought Jenkins was superior physically. Once he improved mentally, it would be no contest. But that's OK. There's a reason why some guys are #1 CBs and some are #2s and #3s. Jenkins was questioned pretty much all year last season and offseason and he's responded in a big way. Now that Scandrick is getting picked on and certainly will start getting called out in the media, we'll see how he responds. He's still young, give him some time.

There are very few teams that can sustain injuries, I'm shocked that Indy has survived, but we should be OK.

Scandrick is always half a step away from making the play so that tells me it's only a matter of time for this kid to break out, same for Spencer...:starspin

SO the season is over already? if you notice everytime the reciever cathes the ball on Scandrick he is in almost perfect coverage but he doest turn around and locate the ball because if he just turned his head it would be a pick. I have faith in O and I think he's gonna come around but he is not starting for a reason so what did you expect?

I've predicted it at several points, but I must say that I'm proud of us that it took a full 10 weeks to start a bash-Scandrick thread. Now everybody: let's pile on and not stop no matter what happens, ok? Otherwise, if Ken Hamlin is gone next season, we'll have absolutely nobody to ***** about senselessly in the secondary for a while.

Oh man. I really don't think it's just time to throw O under the bus and act like he's a complete bum.

The ball seems to go through this guy at times. I don't get it. Open your eyes.

Losing Columbo was not the issue with blocking on the oline Flo was pretty darn awful this last game and the blitzes up the middle where working because the interior did a bad job of picking them up

Free was not why that was happening it was because the oline rolled out there and did nothing but stand there all day

Scandrick played the same role most of last year that he is playing this year, and he was much better at it last year than he has been this year. Maybe it's a sophomore slump, or maybe he played just over his head last year. Either way, we need him to play better starting now.

It's not about tearing anyone down to build someone else up. Jenkins is the better player and Scandrick played awful as his replacement last night.

Even last year I felt Jenkins was better, but everyone put Scandrick on this pedestal he wasn't ready for, he has a lot of work to do as far as technique is concerned.

Well put. I feel the same way.

Spencer played a good game yesterday and is already starting to break out, in my opinion.

We weren't blocking anyone even before Columbo got hurt. I will say that most of the damage was coming right up the middle and from our left side.

I didn't notice Free making any bad mistakes. but I didn't concentrate on him either.

If you're giving up hope and are leaving, see ya! If you're dissapointed but believe it can and will get better, then feel free to join the rest of us. Let's give GB some props. They stopped our guys and played desparation football. After three emotional victories, maybe we shouldn't surprised that things didn't click like they should. GB is behind us. Bring on Washington!:starspin

The knock on Scandrick coming out of college was his poor technique and I think that's the problem right now.

Agreed. If he could just turn and find the ball he would've had about 3 picks this year. As far as his coverage goes he's right there.
