1st Round- Melvin Gordon RB Wisconsin- With Murray likely gone we will need someone to replace his production and his ability to be a workhorse back. Enter Melvin Gordon, a guy who had 343 carries for over 2500 yards last year (in other words, he was the defination of a workhorse back). Adding him will see that our offense doesn't miss a step in our post-Murray years

2nd Round- Nate Orchard DE Utah- With us needing some huge help in terms of our pass rush, Nate Orchard can come in right away and put a huge licking on the QB right away. If Marinelli and Lett can work to help him in run defense he will be a powerful force on our team. And yes... I know this is probably a dream pick, but oh well.

3rd Round- Carl Davis DT Iowa- While he lacks elite stats I have seen some people say he could easily develop into an every down player for years to come (and his Senior Bowl week is helping to give me confidence there). Will probably help out more in run defense than pass rush, but from our 1 tech DT I won't mind that too much, especially if we have our other 3 players getting to the QB consistantly and Davis helping to give the opposing QB no place to go. This is another player I think that Marinelli will help out a lot with.

4th Round- Kevin White CB TCU- This is a guy I hadn't heard of a lot before this week, so that makes me a bit skeptical, but after reading some of what people have had to say I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him in the 4th round, if nothing else he should be able to help out in some substitution packages, and maybe as a slot corner in a nickel coverage.

5th Round- Blake Sims QB Alabama- This was a hard pick for me, because I didn't have any readily made players, but Romo won't last forever and Weeden should be on his way out. Sims has the ability to be a very good QB, and if we limit him effectively by pounding the ball with the running game, it should help him out (as will throwing to guys like Bryant, Beasley, and Witten).

No 6th rounder I believe because of the McClain trade and I won't even try with the 7th round due to obvious difficulty this early in the draft season nothing is known about a lot of those players. The main weakness I still see is we probably could still use 1 more CB, and we still need a safety I think. Though I wouldn't be disappointed at all if the draft looked like this, what do you think?

P.S. LOL I can't believe I misspelled mock, stupid flu not going away causing me to misspell easy words I can't easily fix.

No 1st round rb for me....I see at least a few rbs with similar talent to Gordon.

The next 2 picks are both good players who fill needs...although I can't see either lasting that long.

Don't know a whole lot about White....

Is there another Blake Sims I'm not aware of? Surely you can't believe the Alabama QB would be a good pick.

2nd and 3rd round picks likely wont be there. White could be there in round 4, but I have heard 3rd round too, but I am splitting hairs with that pick. I could be ok with Gordon at 27 but it obviously hinges on Murray staying or leaving. Ill echo the others in saying no to simms in any round.

Personally i dont turn my nose up to Gordon at 27. Good value and its a need position if Murray leaves.

Yes our OL can make runners look good, but if you put an elite runner behind that line you have an unstoppable force capable of dictating both sides of the ball. That and Romo's play is what won us 12 games last year

What other RBs have proven that they can be the kind of workhorse that Gordon can be putting up over 2,500 yards. I wouldn't object to defense there... but it seems like most of the top talent defenders are gone, and after that it seems like they are all really close in terms of talent.

As for Blake Sims, I was looking at QBs likely to go around then, and his name was the main name that popped up. NFL.com had him as the 5th most talented QB (though they don't really put round rankings on guys). CBSsports 6th best with a 6th round grade. From what I have seen (which with Alabama is a lot), I really don't see why he would be such a bad pick to take a 5th round flyer on, at the very least he would be better than Weeden.

I honestly see Davis lasting that long, just because he is a 300+ pound 1-tech DT. It seems like if you aren't elite there, you tend to fall a ways because of lack of demand (several players I had my eyes on last year fail a round farther than they were supposed to) even right now he is being projected late third in a lot of what I have seen... and yea I admit it...I am totally hoping with Orchard.

I realize what Gordon did was special, but I'm sure there are a lot of guys across the country who would have loved to get 340 carries against Big Ten competition.... we'll see how he tests and everything, but I'm just not entirely convinced he's a special enough RB to warrant a 1st round pick in a time where very few RB's go in the 1st.

And Blake Sims in the 5th is still crazy. He's an undrafted free agent....at best.

So only 4 or 5 QBs are going to be drafted? NFL.com, cbssports, and several other sites have him as the 5th or 6th best QB right now. It is a bad year for QBs if you are not in the top 10... but... do you want to go with Weeden another year?

Edit to add: I just don't see what the problem with Sims is other than the fact that he is under a microscope and every little problem is magnified (and of course his height). He lead his team to a 12-2 record, yes they got embarrassed by OSU but then again so did the Mariota lead Ducks (and at least the Tide were in the game until the end unlike the Ducks). Then I hear, well that was just because of the run game, okay fair enough... but you don't pass it for 3500+ yards if you are running the ball every single play (16th in the nation in that stat). Then I hear, well he made too many dumb mistakes, but A) he is still in need of some experience at the position and B ) he still had the 7th best QBR, 5th among QBs in major conferences with almost a 3 to 1 TD/INT ratio.

Most of the experts I see out there say he needs work, but he has the potential to be a good or better NFL QB... and quite frankly from what I have seen, I believe them. Is he the best QB in the draft, hell no, but do I think he is the best QB any team is likely to get after the 4th round, yes. Of course it is just January so I lot can happen but as of right now, I don't even think he lasts to the 5th round in this QB class (which just isn't that good).

I just watched all of Gordon's snaps against Ohio State and I was disappointed. Ohio State is probably the closet thing to an NFL team that he faced and he had a 2.9 Yards per carry average in that game.

You probably convinced yourself that Greg McElroy and AJ McCarron were going to be nfl qb's too didn't you?
