Way too early/Go on the record/Who's your guy for 2018?

College football is 4 months away, but many of the posters in this draft forum already know the player or players they like for 2018.

Post a player you either:

Last year, my guy was LSU's Jamal Adams but I knew he was going early and once Dal & Zeke exploded onto the scene, knew we had ZERO chance of drafting him. Since I an a safety snob, and I still feel the Cowboys desperately need one, I'm going that way again.

My 2018 dream draft pick for the Cowboys is Florida State's Derwin James. Like Adams, he should be a top pick and hopefully well beyond our range, but until he isn't, he's my guy.

Tremaine Edmunds, VA Tech. Potential RDE or OLB. Listed at 6'5"/235 and looks to have similar arm length to Randy Gregory. Had 18.5 TFLs from a traditional LB position. He's a JR.

Chris how close were you with your final mock this year?

I was on the Carl Lawson bandwagon starting in September and fell off in Dec. My mock was close but never had Taco/Awuzie/Lewis making the menu as Awuzie was never available in my mind in the second rd.

I like Arden Key of LSU also...don't see either being there when Dallas drafts if things go according to plan for each player AND for the Boys 2017 season.

DE Harold Landry (a sacker with a great name)
WR James Washington (although if Switzer lights it up at PR then JW may make less sense although I still love his big speed and huge numbers. I think he would be a much better #2 than TW and he has some crazy speed. Speed kills.

Maybe, I personally haven't scrutinized his play enough to say one way or the other. Just saying that there is some talk about his delivery being long and loopy, like a pitcher winding up for a pitch.

I know Dallas refuse to draft a DT in round 1 but Da'Ron Payne would be my first pick of the 2018 draft. Kid has that elite combination of Power, Technique and Hands in what you look for in Defensive Tackle.



Honrable Mention- Ronnie Harrison S Alabama-- Kid has the size, range (nose for the ball) and will hit you like a ton of bricks. Both of these players will make a lot of plays this upcoming season and both will be 1st round picks once the season plays out.

Derwin James would be great - total stud player.

For me, I would have two:

DE Bradley Chubb from NC State. Can convert speed to power really well.



OG Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame. Powerful man who kills in the run game, but has some work to do in pass protection.
