Ok another one with explanations:
Dallas only signed 6 of their own. They signed DWilson, Hankins, Peters, Fowler, Watkins and Steele. TyronSmith extended at a lower rate. Zeke agreed to take less, so Jerry reworked it.
Dallas reworked Dak as expected to get the money to sign their own plus.
Schultz, McGovern, Pollard took big deals. LVE, Brown, and Rush took better ones that D offered.
Dallas spent the offseason $$$$ and got Payne for the DL. So no DL taken in draft.
Draft: From PFF - I dislike their picture so typed it in.
R1:26 Joey Porter Jr. Penn State CB
R2:58 Jahmyr Gibbs Alabama RB
R3:90 Noah Sewell Oregon LB
R4:129 Andrei Iosivas Princeton WR
R5:163 Jaxson Kirkland Washington G
R5:170 Drake Nugent Stanford C
R5:176 Clayton Tune Houston QB
R6:204 Cameron Latu Alabama TE
R6:212 Keytaon Thompson Virginia WR
R7:246 Hunter Luepke North Dakota State FB
1) Joey Porter -- available and starts opposite Diggs. Diggs, Porter, Bland are top 3 with NWright and Joseph still working.
2) Jahmyr Gibbs -- new offense, new star RB
3) Noah Sewell -- taken to be the MLB that this D is missing. Descent speed, good stack, allows Micah to play several positions.
4) Andrei Iosivas -- 6'3" good hands and a 4.29 forty..... just what a WCO is looking for.
5a) Jaxson Kirkland -- he gets a shot at starting at LG with Farinok and Alarcon, if not Tyler Smith will have to move there.
5b) Drake Nugent -- Biadasz finally gets a backup that can compete. (Probable year needed in NFL weight room)
5c) Clayton Tune -- sits back a couple years and learns -- here is your next Tony Romo
6a) Cameron Latu -- need a little more depth at TE, and he might develop
6b) Keytaon Thompson -- 6'5" WR with some skills, mainly a #6 type that can be used as a red zone specialist
7) Hunter Luepke -- if you are going back to a WCO, using a FB isn't a bad idea.
Comment on Alarcon. They keep on keeping him, so I hope he is finally at the point of being able to start before the social security checks start clearing. They must see something in him.
Offense (24) with 4 linemen and one WR on IR/PS/Injury, etc
QB - Dak, Grier, Tune
RB - Gibbs, Davis, Zeke, Luepke
TE - Ferguson, Hendershot, McKeon, Latu
WR - Lamb, Iosivas, Gallup, Simi Fehoko, Turpin, Thompson (PS)
OT - TSmith(2), Peters (swing), Steele (IR to begin year) --- with Ball (RT), Waletzko (LT)
IOL- Martin, Biadasz, Farinok, Alarcon, Kirkland, Nugent --- with 2 on practice squad
Defense (23)
DE - Lawrence, Armstrong, SWilliams, Fowler
DT - Payne, Hankins, Osa, Bohanna
DL - Watkins, Gholston -- play both inside and out as needed
LB - Parsons (mlb, wlb) - gets some DE snaps, Cox (slb) - follows Kearse to be a bigger Leo type for those teams that want to run but really don't have TE/RB threat, Sewell (mlb) - gets some DE snaps, Clark (wlb)- plays spy and speed
S - Wilson, Kearse, Hooker, Mukuamu
CB - Porter, Diggs, Bland, NWright, Joseph
That leaves one place on D.
And of course 3 ST players.
How do you think Dallas would do next year, if this is the team they trotted out there?
