Way too Early Pet Cats for TC

T. Smith is not moving from LG. Hoffman has no chance against Booker.
Schottenheimer himself, after the first round, said not to rule out Tyler Smith at LT if that means getting the best five linemen on the field. When asked if Tyler Guyton could be one of those five, Schotty said "I don't know".

This isn't the old staff anymore. Guyton might have been a McCarthy project so we will have to wait and see.

Good one, almost forgot about him. Probably our most talented backup WR. Would be huge if he could step up.
I’m holding out hope for Flournoy because he is legitimately a crazy athlete. If you look at his athletic measurements, he is one of the most well rounded WRs to test in years. His broad, 40 time, etc were all significantly better than what is typically found in players of his height and weight.

Edit - found it.

Those are world class athletic measurements.

Usually fans will have their pet cats at TC approaches and starts. A few places will emerge and shine. But are they really as good as they seem.

So I do not have any specific player at this point. And usually choose a dark horse type being a late round pick, or an UDFA.
I usually do not go with a top 3 or 4 (we did not have one) pick, as they are expected to make the team.

For now, I am going with. Even I said above not usually going with a 4th rounder.
WR, Mingo, as many fans hate him. He can emerge and surprise. Consider him a 4th round pick
WR, Campbell, has not lived up to expectations, maybe a change of venue, as Mingo will help
WR, Holden
RB, Blue and even Mafah
LB James, since fans hated this pick as well
CB, UDFA, Childress

Will possibly narrow this down during TC, or add another player .
My pet cats are BS, Eberflus and our OL coach. Gonna watch them as close as I can. Might try to pull some strings and see if I can get a close look when they come to Frisco, during camp. I don't have as many strings as I used too, but we'll see

Flournoy Holden Mingo - I like physical, tough to tackle WRs.

Brevyn Spann-Ford - like Ford since he was a junior in college.

Nathan Thomas - One of last year's pet cat.

Jay Toia - Schwesinger owes this man some money.

Israel Mukuamu - watched him and Jaycee and always liked his game.

Guyton was a reach out of a desperational need at LT. He is most likely our RT starter next season. We can only hope he has improved from last year and can at least be an average LT this season

Establishing the running game will make every lineman's job easier in pass blocking.

#1 for me is Jalen Cropper. I think he makes last year's team if not for the fumble on KO in preseason. I chalk that up to nerves. Cropper is a football player. Reminds me of Stephon Diggs

#2 is probably Toia. I see a way better player than some of you are assuming.

#3 Holden, guy is talented. More talented than some of the top 10 guys this year. I want to see him get a chance to overcome the character narrative.

Lastly, Shemar James. He's only 20 years-old, so he's not even fully matured yet some are dissing his size. Go figure. Good instincts, especially for a guy who is still maturing mentally and physically.

For me pet cats is typically limited to late round picks and UDFAs. This year though I have a lot of interest in two early picks Booke and Ezeiruaku, late round Toia, Mafah and UDFA Holden.

Excellent post.
Those three receivers you listed will claim a lot of daily chatter and media coverage in the battle
For
4/5 receiver spots.

Offense -- Asim Richards. Given a chance I still believe he's our best LT.

Defense -- Kaiir Elam. Seemed to have been asked to do some things in Buffalo that were not his strengths. I think if Eberflus primarily uses Cover 3 that he will thrive in it as an outside corner.

Cover 3 is for 2nd & 3rd and long. Primarily using cover 3 on 2nd or 3rd and short is an automatic first down.

Biggest one for me is not a draft pick. It’s a trade. I want to see what our new LB from Tennessee does under Eberflus.

I’m not expecting anything from any of our late rounders. Anything above that would be great to see.

I don’t think this teams starting RB is on the roster yet.

And Mingo? Come on Jazz. I know you want to give this FO its flowers but that Mingo trade was horrible and will continue to be. He’s garbage. Some players don’t make the transition from college, it happens, heck in Dallas it may warrant a long term extension just because Jerry had a second round grade on him. Lol
