We all have that sinking feeling about the OL

I know this. But they were still over hyped.

Well maybe.. but the only time I felt like they were overhyped was when they started comparing to the lines of the 90's. Them guys were absolute maulers. It was so much fun to watch them grind defensive fronts into paste. This group is a little more finesse.. Still great but not as dominant as the Nate, Larry, Big E, Toeey, Step, Gesek and Gogan lines.

sadly for two short a time the line WAS the equal of the early 60's line. Too be blunt, The line that had Tyron Fredbeard and Martin and the others was right up there. Tyron was better than any LT we had and since we are talking before LA Martin is better than any guard we had and Fredbeard was better than Step.

• Smith’s injuries have been reoccurring
• CW is less than 2-years removed from an ACL and in his final year.
• Biadasz has had injury issues as a rookie and in college
• Martin has a pretty clean bill but was injured last year
• Collins is probably most concerning

Hopefully we can get through this season but we are going to have to do some work in the draft next year to shore things up. We could legitimately spend the entire next draft fixing the trenches on both sides of the ball.

If Collins is out long term the Cowboys can move Zack Martin to tackle and start Connor McGovern at right guard.

Meaning they were smart not to listen to trade offers for McGovern.

I wanted to believe 2020 was an aberration for the OL. But it's looking clear that age and injury are catching up. Maybe we'll somehow nurse things through the season and not become a major liability. I just hope we go OL hard and early in next year's draft. Time to rebuild!
