We all want to fix the D, but front office wants to revamp the O

I am a huge advocate of moving back and targeting Travis Jones, would love to add Sam Williams and Chenal, but I don't see that happening based on what we have heard and seen thus far. We lost multiple offensive starters, where on Defense just lost Gregory and Kazee. We also just used 3 day 2 picks on defense last yr. I think their plan is to replace Gregory, but address other defensive needs late. They are banking on younger players and Quinn developing them.
Our D was 19th, O was 1st. Think about that.

And you are not winning a super bowl until you can stop the run and make D stops in the 4th.

How many more times do we have to lose because we can't stop the run will it take for you to see this?
I don't disagree, but there just are bigger holes on the other side of the football. I believe a player like Travis Jones can fix our run defense in a hurry. We really need a legitimate Right End to replace Randy Gregory. Linebacker and Safety are more secondary type needs.

I agree about taking the best player available, but don't agree line was fine prior to Tyron getting hurt.
Fine is probably not the word I should have used but I don’t think Zion or Green are that much better then Williams if better at all. The Bengals offensive line was one of the worst in the league. The Rams line was not much better. Coaches will have to actually do their jobs and stop depending on Tyron and Martin.

They are far better prospects then Connor Williams was. I agree, don't have to force a pick in rd 1, but don't discount either Guard not being worthy of that selection, either.

I don’t know about that Williams was a college tackle who was working out at three positions. The Cowboys thought they stole him in the second round. Broaddus says both guards have questions. There are other guards that we could get throughout the draft.

Huh? CeeDee anyone. Parsons says hi as well.
Parsons is the rare example, point given!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CeeDee was not BPA, and yes, I said so at the time. Similarly rated players who went after him: Tee Higgins, Kenneth Murray, Patrick Queen, Austin Jackson, Clyde Edwards Helaire. Just to name a few.

You guys have this really strange idea of simply taking the BPA willy nilly. That's one of the stupidest draft strategies ever mentioned. The only time it should be used is when a generational talent such as Parsons slides for really stupid or no reason.

Oh, and just looking back, Parsons wasn't even BPA. Justin Fields was rated higher. So, according to your draft strategy, we should've taken Justin Fields over Parsons at 11 w/o trading back. Yup, great idea.

You might want to readjust your way of thinking

Everyone makes good points on this thread but the Cowboys need to pick the best player on the board. If a defensive player is the highest player at 24, you pick him. If it is an offensive player you do the same. As bad as the offensive line played against the 49ers and Cardinals, the Cowboys don’t need to force the picks. The line was fine until Williams/Pollard fell on Tyron”s ankle.

You can make a case for several positions in the 1st. LG makes the most sense to me if Green/Zion are available bc they’re top 30 players that fit our biggest need.

If a better talent falls I’d certainly be open to it.

Why are you concluding that they are bigger? A NT such as Reader or Kenny Clark would vault this D from 19 to 10 by himself. And that is close to good enough to make a playoff run. Fixing the O is just aiming at another early playoff exit.

Those players weren’t similar rated prospects as Lamb. I’d argue he was easily about 10 slots higher than all of them.

Same for Parsons over Fields. Fields had a lot of question marks he was just overdrafted bc QBs always are.

He wasn't. That's just fans believing hype. Lamb was not rated that high.

Your problem is your going by draftnicks and ESPN. I am going by the Dallas Cowboys board because that is the one that matters. Parsons was a top 5 pick on their board and the same for CeeDee. Get real dude.

I would take Lloyd and Karl over Green/Zion. I would also take Linderbaum as well. Not sure about Burks.

Our board is consistently off. I think it may be you who needs to "get real", whatever that means.

I don't listen to BSPN or draftniks. I go by scouting reports, which are much more accurate than what you are spewing. So, how about you get real and stop spewing nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
