We are 1 point favorites over San Diego

It has nothing to do with who he picks. It's his posting history. By far the most negative on the board. I have complaints from time to time, but that's pretty much all he does.

He's far from the most negative. There are several trolls masquerading as Cowboys fans who are much more negative than he is. You can accuse of RS of many things, such as placing way too much stock in his own opinion, but you can't accuse him of being a troll or a faux fan.

This is the kind of game that screams a 31-27ish final.

Didn't we blow a lead the last time we were in San Diego? I seem to remember Aaron Glenn giving up a TD at the end of the game.

I expect that type of crazy game.

I've got no time for the people who can't see anything positive. I usually just ignore them.

Like if there's a Cowboys fan today dismissing that performance as a fluke or just the Rams.....dude, relax and enjoy it.

I think we are 1-1 the last two regular season games we have played and I want to say they both were close games but I am too lazy to look it up lol.

The last game in San Diego was (I think) 2005 when we intercepted Drew Brees in the end zone on the last play to win the game. The last time we played San Diego was in Dallas in 2009, and they won by a field goal.

Then I must have it in reverse. Aaron Glenn made the play to win it at the end.

They beat us by a field goal because they decided to be nice and take their foot off our throats. They dominated us that game If I recall correctly.

I really think they are similar teams. I give the Chargers the edge being at home, coming off a loss and facing a Cowboys team that just played their A-game.

I think we have a great chance of beating SD. Rivers is not a mobile QB, I can see us getting pressure on him and he loves to throw it up anyway. I see our defense having a solid game against SD and I also don't see any problem with our offense moving the ball. The crowd will probably be 50/50 as well. I feel pretty good about this game to be honest.

Dallas 30
San Diego 17

Phillip Rivers gets sacked 5 times and plays catchup from quarter two on - 25 of 40, 1 TD and 2 INT.

Good memory. It was the 2005 season opener, and it was 4th down, so the fact that it was an INT vs. an incomplete didn't really matter.

4 1:30 4 14 DAL 40 Drew Brees pass complete to Eric Parker for 33 yards (tackle by Anthony Henry) 28 24 0.59 5.6
4 0:47 1 7 DAL 7 Drew Brees pass incomplete intended for Keenan McCardell (defended by Anthony Henry) 28 24 5.6 4.76
4 0:42 2 7 DAL 7 Drew Brees pass incomplete intended for Justin Peelle 28 24 4.76 3.81
4 0:37 3 7 DAL 7 Drew Brees pass incomplete intended for Keenan McCardell (defended by Dat Nguyen) 28 24 3.81 2.97
4 0:30 4 7 DAL 7 Drew Brees pass incomplete intended for Eric Parker is intercepted by Aaron Glenn at DAL-0 28 24 2.97 -0.28

Of course...

Kind of odd that we are favored on the road against a good early-season team. I put us at -2

They're 1-2 early this season and barely escaped with a win vs Philly in week 2.

That would be sweet.

Especially since Rivers has been one of the best performing QB in the league so far this year.
8TDs, 1 int, 120 or so rating.

Their two loses came in the last seconds vs Houston and on the road at Tenn.

Rivers is probably better in a catchup role he and the Chargers have been at their worst trying to protect a lead.

Stats aside - this is a tough game. SD struggles with periods of sloppy football. They blow Philly out easily without a few red zone turnovers. They could have very easily handled a good Houston team at home if they just show up in the 4th quarter. Yesterday the lose at the buzzer to a solid Tenn team. Excuses, maybe. Point is if SD plays a relatively clean 60 minutes, this will be a very tough opponent on their field. Not sure how anyone can predict this as a game the Boys easily win.

I think much like the KC game, turnovers determine the game.

IF we go into San Diego and come out with a win then I will start to believe we can go places this season. IF we lose, I will have my doubts....I know its early and one game but that's the way I feel about it..............

I am with you.

Essentially we've donw nothing right now. We lost against the Giants who seem to be a (very) bad team. We lost against a good (not very good) team and we beat another bad team. So we really have done nothing we can be proud of nor something where we can say "ok. we are a good team".

I lost alot of faith in the FO and coaching staff after the way we lost against the Chiefs. Seems like nothing has changed. We looked unprepaired and werent able to adjust during the game. The intellectual approach Garrett takes IMO is the right one. But it seems he is no doer but more of a thinker - means he fails in tranfering ideas into the real world.

Let's see what happens in San Diego.

This is going to be a tough one for both teams. I want Dallas to win but there a felling there going to lose this by a TD or filed goal.
