Dak has been bad the past two games but before Tampa he had led the offense to scoring at a rate they were on pace to make NFL history. I don't know enough to know how much of the past two games have been on him, coaching/playcalling or what, but I think saying they shouldn't have paid him is complete hindsight. Dak can play QB at a high level. Literally every NFL exec and front office would agree, so random fans can argue on here until they are blue in the face and it's still true. However, NOT A SINGLE TEAM WHO HAS MADE A PLAYOFF OR SUPERBOWL RUN HAS BAD COACHING. THAT IS THE CONSTANT YOU ARE ALL LOOKING FOR. Elite QBs have won SBs. Journeyman QBs have won SBs. ALL WITH ELITE COACHING STAFFS. All of them. Jerry should have hired Ben Johnson, Joe Brady, etc. We've had one good coach since Jimmy in Parcels. One. That's it. The playcalling the last few games in particular has been atrocious. Granted, I don't know how much of that is on Dak to audible at the line, but how do you run so few slant and mesh routes against the blitz in favor of long developing downfield plays? What the hell is happening to our O-line? How are they significantly worse when the all-pro returns?
Getting rid of Dak means you have to trust Jerry and McClay to correctly evaluate and acquire a better player. That is not even close to a guarantee. At this point we are basically screwed until next year unless with a new coach unless they can somehow get it together. The only shred of hope we have is the defense looks some better. Some. Have to pray the offense can get back to form and get hot, but they are wasting all the Ws they should get against bad teams.
