Should have never been paid after the green bay game. Just driving the nails deeper into the coffin. Cant pay a quarterback elite contract money when they aren't elite / game changers

But as much as its fun to point fingers they all should be pointing at Jerry and Stephen

Cee Dee fell down on the second pick but his first one was like most of the ones he throws. Late across the middle and where the defense has numbers. The inevitable happens and he always looks shocked, Its as predictable as the tides and an incredibly tired act.
Don’t forget the one that didn’t count because of a bogus roughing penalty

He's taking up 1/4 of your cap. You need him to be elite every week. he isn't. Draft a qb next year. Give dak one more go at it. But to extend him beyond that would be dumb by this organization

I'm for this. And letting the rookie develop. My ONE concern is that Jerry's going to try to sell Archie Manning as the next franchise QB.

This is all because Jerry is old and will be dead soon. He doesn't have enough years to blow it up and start over. So he's just patching up an old car. It looks good on the outside but the engine is seized.

You simply don’t pay the highest contract ever for a slightly above average QB who has shown over and over he has the same limitations. They knew they shouldn’t have given him the first contract. Then they double down and do it again. And what do you know they then triple down and give away a lot of draft capital to so desperately prove they are right about Dak. What is it year 11? How many more years until they try something new? What is there to lose? A losing season? Oh wait Dak has only had those since his new contract. Which by the way he still makes the per year of any QB and it’s two years later. Which shows you just how crappy it is

Jimmy, done gave a prophetic word.
Almost like Jimmy knows better than Jerry. The contract at week 1 of the season made zero sense. Then he proceeded to suck and get hurt and Jerry said let’s get you another number 1 receiver to help you look good. Any professional organization would have let him go after year 5 with what he was asking.

If you put pressure on Dak he will fold.
If the referees hadn't carried him he would have one more interception tonight and one less touchdown pass.
Dak's career has been saved multiple times with bogus roughing the passer penalties that kept the Cowboys in games.
But now the teams know; if they put pressure on Dak he can't function.

That's been the issue with Dak for years. It's just that the oline and McCarthy (and, to an extent, Kellen Moore) were masking that with high-end playcalling. Schotty can't do that.

Its now clear as day that it was a bad decision to not move on from him after 2024. The cascading events that occurred have set this franchise back at least 5 years.

9/8/24: Dak signs 4 year contract extension through 2029

1/24/25: Cowboys hire Brian Schottenheimer mostly because the QB campaigned for it and the reluctance to change systems for a 9 year vet

1/28/25: Cowboys hire Matt Eberflus to be DC which lead to one of the worst defenses to ever play for this franchise

7-9-1 season

1/22/2026: Schottenheimer hand picks Christian Parker. A 34 year old passing game coordinator that never called a defense on any level and was tasked with transforming the worst D in franchise history.

We were better off letting Dak play out the 2024 season and letting him go (or trade) and start a true rebuild. These losses and performances would be a lot more palatable if there wasnt this fantasy that this was a team in win-now mode.

One of the Woat decisions in the jerry jones era
Worse than Jerry dedicating the entire 2008 draft on special teams?

The extension was fine everything else was a disaster. We have no coach. No DC. No oline. Just an abject failure all around.

Schotty calls the play how it should happen without the training wheels. The one time Schotty put the training wheels on, Dak throws a potentially game winning TD away. An 11 year vet, can't still possibly need training wheels.

Dak was only good because of Zeke. He should have been gone when Zeke left.

Been saying it for years

Dak cant get it done without a top 5 run game and a top 10 defense and you cant build this paying 120 million to 3 offensive players

The worst decision in the NFL is paying an average QB elite money

And to do it twice? LOL
He doubled down on the bad contracts with Dak AND gave him a no trade clause. It's laughable.

Who was the drunk idiot that signed Dak to that awful contract?
