CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
There was a guy here, I won't mention the username in case children read this, that had a quote of mine on Prescott in his signature. Thinking he was exposing me. It read something like "The worst part of all this is the Cowboys will now waste years on a QB who just can't play."

He was one of those 2016 League MVP campaigners.

Haven't seen that guy around in awhile. Wonder if he's updated his signature?

r u a cowboys fan?
is ur team a loser team?
My credentialed fandom has never dipped below the sterling class rating level of impeccable, Puttyo_O

No, my team is not a "loser team"! while this ill equipped footballish fighting force suffers delusional plans of parity in scheduled matchups& under utilization of force multiplier implementation,,, I'm not leaning into the squinty eyed riceball viewport of looking at things in such a perspectiveo_O

I get no joy out of that. My team has no QB. We are now in the have not category when the opportunity was there to go from Romo to Wentz seamlessly.

How many years are we looking at before we have a real QB again? Nobody knows. Could be next year, could be a lot longer than that. That should really scare you.

But please, for the love of God, even these Jones idiots have to see this scrub has to go. We can't possibly want more of this and sign him to another contract at a sickening salary relative to his skills.
I wholly concur with the latter closing verbal account in yer' posted statemento_O

As much as I don't like to admit it, big ups to guys like @PAPPYDOG and @NotForLong who saw the bleakness of our QB situation long before most others would admit it.
This whole situation has really tugged at my heart. I bleed blue. My wanting the Cowboys to Reinstall Romo as the starting quarterback was 2 fold. Romo was Romo, obviously better football talent and mind. It was beyond obvious. But at the same time and even more important was to give Dak time to grow and learn.

I have always been a big fan of having a QB starting as a Back Up and learning. These athletes are monsters and it hurts when they hit you. Its so much faster on the field. As a Rookie you are a sitting duck. You have to naturally develop bad habits which leads to poor foot work. Some never recover. Donovan sat and Tim Couch was thrown to the wolves.

There's something to be said, a what if. What if Dak learned behind Romo what if? Instead he's being exposed as a 1 trick pony and teams are exploiting him. He's developed poor mechanics instead of watching and learning from one of the greatest.

In 2016 I wanted Romo to play because I had seen the heart that made Dak great. He stepped in and stepped up. There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding him but Damn what an incredible man. The Cowboys missed out on an amazing opportunity to develop him.

2016 did happen and he is a 4th rd selection. Dak is both but that's why you develop the physical abilities because he's a winner a leader and a competitor.

Now we are stuck with an egotistical owner. And a head coach who is incappable or flat out will not help this kid who is struggling. This once shinning star is falling by the wayside because he is surrounded by incompetence. Because the owner is deluded and mananical.
Sad state of affairs indeed

Great post. I'm also of the opinion that rookie QBs should sit and learn year 1, no matter where they were drafted. Sure there are some that start immediately and go on to have great careers (Aikman, Manning, etc)... but I look at guys like Romo, Rogers, and now Mahomes and have to wonder if things might have been different if they didn't get that year (or more) learning under their belt before being thrown into the fire.

Even the injury to Aikman that caused him to sit and watch Buerlien was beneficial .Up into that point he didn't understand how to utilize Irvin. I think it helped him sitting after the injury
