I've got to believe Bill Belichick is on the way. Things are gonna change
What will Bill Belechick be able to do that none of the 6 prior head coaches could not? I have a hard time believing BB would agree to come here to this dysfunctional circus with half the authority he had in NE.

Are we to believe Jerry would hire Belechick and let him truly have his usual level of control including imposing some kind of gag on Jerry after and before games? Because BB is really big on the idea that only the HC shares info about roster moves, injuries.

From the Green bay loss to today I cannot tell you how much interest I have lost in this team. Really not the team but this front office. It is beyond baffling the moves and non moves that they make. They suck the wind right out of your sails. Im a 50 plus year fan and have seen a lot but this is the absolute lowest I have ever felt.

I mean this trade was the icing on the cake, a move just to make a move. We trade a 4th for Mingo and Hopkins goes for a 5th. Our QB is going on IR and will be out at least 4 weeks. We should be trading players for picks right now.
Since the GB debacle this franchise has fallen off a cliff and is taking us with it. I can never be a fan of another team, I do not mind a rebuild at all it is actually fun to see your team build itself up and get better each year ie; Detroit at this moment. But we are like a rudderless ship. No Plan No Direction and unless something earth shattering happens No Hope. When you have no hope its just a sinking feeling.
We are a bad football team right now. Our OL is the main concern needing a RT and RG next year while hoping the rookie LT improves greatly. Our DL is right behind, Lawrence is a FA as well as O Digi, Joseph and Fowler. We need better WR play being we lead the league in least seperation, Cooks and Turpin are both FA so thats CD, Tolbert, Mingo and Brooks. Not Good at all. Which leads us to the RB room lol which we have no one under contract but Luepke and Deuce. That is a lot of holes to fill.

Do you have faith that our GM can fix this? After today I think the thought of him doing anything is scarier by the minute. Don't mean to sound like doom and gloom but I have just about had it with them ********ting us. The problem is we are fans and this is our enjoyment, this team represents us to a degreee. But the Jones family look at this as strictly business and we are their cash cow. All they want to do is stay relevant enough to sell us a dream and they keep raking in the money. Which is their perogative it is their business. But when you look at the dollars spent and we are one of the bottom teams in spending and this is Jerrys all in.
Well he is the best salesman in the world. I pray for change but really do not see many bright days ahead of us.
I feel your pain. The only hope I had left was the thought of a good draft next year. Then Jerry goes and gives away a fourth on a WR who hasn't been productive. The sad part is Jerry still thinks this team is a playoff team. We've gone from the American team to the Laughing stock of Football. Jerry makes Al Davis look brilliant.

I'm clinging to the belief that Jerry Jones realizes he is running out of time. He has to make a wholesale changes in the way he runs the operation. He doesn't have time to screw up again.

Yep, the stark reality is that it has to get worse than it gets better. You haven't mentioned the same rinse and repeat of the Jones' signing overpaid stars for publicity purposes rather than sound football reasons.
How pays top dollar for a QB that pretty, much everyone agree's only really performs with a full compliment of: protection, receiving corp, running game, Defense that can stop the run....and a lead.

The fact it's a 4 year contract just compounds matters. It's not like his last contract where it can be restructured into the following contract..... this contract has to be paid up by the latest 2028. Can't imagine Jerry going into another negotiation with France.

Yep, its the unfathomable quandry, which excellent dynamic, imaginative HC wants to come and find out that Jerry has the final say.

No, but BB would FIGHT Jerry. MM can't discipline a player without asking daddy first. Why? Because Jerry has a radio show and he needs to be able to explain the reason for the discipline...so he wrests that from MM. I doubt BB would make that kind of concession.

The Jones family's passion is the Dallas Cowboys. They are great owners. The only problem is the patriarch won't hire a GM OR do any of the work required of a GM. He also has a propensity to only see the sunny side of everything. It served him well in business but that disposition doesn't translate to football operations where the job is literally to be critical and find faults.

The team needs a rebuild and a new coaching staff with the ability to motivate players and the organizational authority to hold them accountable.

Again, do we expect BB to have that kind of control? I could be wrong, but I just don’t see Jerry surrendering the very authority Belechick is used to holding.

I feel ya!! I've been a fan since the 90s, and this is easily the lowest point I've ever reached. I don't even care anymore, and that sucks. This isn’t how we’re supposed to experience fandom. I just can’t keep investing emotions in this clown show. Honestly, it wasn't even the loss to Green Bay that made me check out. Sure, that hurt, but I still held out hope. It was when they signed Dak to that record-breaking deal on kickoff day. That was the last straw.......my sails lost all wind in that moment.

The Jones boys have no idea how to run an NFL team. Every time we get close, 'hanging around the rim,' as Jerry says, they refuse to make a move or bring in that extra piece to get us over the top. Look at the teams with deep playoff runs in recent years; they go out and get what they need midseason. But these guys? They're 100% hellbent on doing it their way, and after 30 years, it’s clear: they just can’t get it done. They won’t even try to draft and develop QBs. Instead, they lock in an average one who needs a full team of talent around him to perform, and when his deal is about up, they freak out and sign him to a record deal. It’s ridiculous.

Like you, I can't just root for another team. My loyalty is here. Otherwise, I’d have taken Dak’s advice and "jumped off". For now, all I can do is sit back and laugh at these buffoons trying to run this team. Jerry will see the ground before he sees another Super Bowl… hell, maybe even another NFC Championship.

I hope your right. It could make sense but coming from Jones I just have zero faith right now. When you look at the overall picture he is a disaster. We signed Pollard and Steele coming off major injuries for top dollar. He could of saved money or waited. Pollard is playing well now for Titans but needed a year. Steele has not been the same since. Lance trade made no sense at all. I just have no faith at all that they have any clue what they are doing. I need to throw Schoonmaker in the draft as well with a 2nd rd pick while we have Ferguson. The list goes on but thanks for your insight.
Lance i dont understand that one.

Additionally, no coach has won a super bowl with one franchise and then won it with another. Which is why I'm wanting a young coach like Ben Johnson or maybe a Dan Lanning (Oregon coach who's only 38).

  • Our GM is preoccupied with brokering business deals for tractor pulls and motocross events to have time to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy doing radio and tv interviews to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy creating an offensive package for Trey Lance to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy holding press conferences after every game at the same time as our “head coach” has his press conference to do GM tasks.
  • As father of the year, our GM is too busy with attorneys to ensure his own daughter knows she is no member of the Jones family to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy with hookers and call girls to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy screwing his own team this season to do any GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy making sure our own players will be looking into blinding sunlight for all home games to do GM duties.
  • Our GM is too busy with NDAs to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy reminding himself that he was the architect of the 3x Super Bowl champion (remember Jerry’s revisionist history says Jimmy had very little to do with building a dynasty) to do GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy with Johnny Walker Blue to do his GM tasks.
  • Our GM is too busy reflecting on his past GM triumphs like drafting a cold weather kicker specialist, dedicating an entire draft in 2008 to improving special teams, and adding baseball pitchers (Hutchinson & Henson) to the team as the QBs of the future.
I can’t wait to see what our beloved GM does next. Ain't it great as a fan to know that we are the most profitable franchise?

I feel you and I am right there with you. This franchise is doomed as long as the Jones family is involved. All of them are narcissistic clowns. I am almost ready to give up. I despise the league as well. Gooddell takes the fun out of the league, politicizes it, and takes the real fans for granted. He despises the real fans.

There is zero chance the Jones boys cede any control over this team. We know that from studying Cowboys history under Jerry’s reign of terror lol. Now Bill B might be the next head coach, but he would only be doing it for the money and how much would it cost to get Bill B who knows he will only be a figurehead just like every coach since the great Jimmy Johnson? It will take a kings ransom to get Bill B to hand over his dignity to the eternal carnival barker. What hc wants to coach a team with this many holes and the huge morale problem? I know one thing, Dallas is where a head coach goes to see their hc career die.

I've been a fan for 30 years and this is the lowest I've ever been as well. We're locked into paying one of the worst quarterbacks in the league $60 million per season for the next two seasons, at least.

The players that we've resigned to long-term contracts all suck. Name one who's earning any of their money, besides CD. Some of these players need to be cut or traded otherwise this is going to continue.
I'll be happy if they win today and Mingo and Parsons play well. I'll also be happy if they lose and improve their draft position. I love the draft and would love to be drafting at the top of each round for a change.
