I hope we dont rush and just sign anyone.. we really need to have a HC in here that knows what he is doing.... otherwise we can change our "America's Team" to "Wasted Talent".........

BECAUSE thats what we will be doing if we dont have someone as HC that is competent to take us where we want to go...

Wasted Talent will be..... Romo, Owens, Witten, Barber.... etc.... many more

Haven't we been at a crossroad for a decade now? I don't want to hear the words talent, youth or potential. They are just excuses. I want results no matter who is suiting up, what awards they have won, or how old they are.

I actually agree.

In a way, even though Dallas was able to get Bill Parcells, I wasn't sure that the last hire was as big as this one. The reason is because I thought almost anything was going to be an upgrade to what Dallas had been doing for those last 3-4 years.

Basically, I always felt like the coach that Dallas hired after Campo was going to have to work his tail off to turn the franchise around, but he likely wouldn't be around to reap all of the rewards. Since it was Bill Parcells at his age, it was even more likely to be true...

This hire needs to be someone who can help the team take the next step from being a good team to being a legitimate contender. That's a much more difficult hire.

The truly scary thing is that if the franchise goes the wrong way with this hire, the team risks the chance of falling back into mediocrity and failure.

When I first heard the news of the retirement, I was surprised, but I was also feeling somewhat positive and refreshed.

Now I'm getting scared and paranoid just by reading some of these threads.

Unfortunately, in today's NFL, that's the case with every team. 3-13 to 13-3 to 3-13 again....

assuming Romo pans out, we're in really good shape....lots of talent on D, good young developmental QB...good TE's and RB's...a ton of salary cap room, no free agents of real consequence that we're in danger of losing

this is a good situation for anyone...

David

a pretty young nucleus is the reason I wouldn't be happy with any of the retreads that are being mentioned here.

But we do need someone who knows how to handle that nucleus of young talent, otherwise it could all indeed be wasted (much like it was this year at times).

I absolutely agree the team is in good shape. That's why they need to do something now, and they need to continue to work to stay at a higher level.

A few additions to the O-line and one or two players on defense and we can make a serious run... will we have a HC that will know how to execute this teams offense and defense - that is the question

Talent? that's th problem -we don't have much of it. And we've overrated it as did the media and BP. We would have had talent had we just taken the common sense pick in Steven Jackson .

Dude,, LET IT GO ALREADY! So because we didn't take the RB you wanted, we have no talent on this team?? That might be the dumbest post I have read on this board,, and that is saying ALOT!
