Not really, just fun to join in with all the negative Nancy's around here! :laugh2:
Give me a break, this is preseason. It means NOTHING. Not even when the starters are out there because you just can't convince a player that it is meaningful when it isn't. You can hear all the cliches about practicing the way you play, how these games are important to get ready for the real games, etc. It just isn't true. Human nature, do you really expect them to get amped up the way they would for a real game. Do you really?
Yes, the Chargers ran over us in the first half. They came out with far more intensity that our guys did. Kudos to them but in the end, it still means nothing.
Wake me up when the REAL season starts -- then we'll see if we're for real or not. Hell, even real games early on don't mean much -- I remember when we played Cleveland in the season opener, Romo had all day, Owens was getting crazy open and our defense destroyed the Cleveland offense.
By the end of that season, we were a bunch of whimpering DOGS! We OWNED the Giants three seasons ago...until January. They were playing the best football late in the season and got the trophy. I've seen teams look completely listless in the early part of the season (New York Jets last year) and become juggernauts by the end. I've seen world-beaters in September and October (Cincinatti last season), only to look ridiculously pathetic in December and January.
