We beat ourselves.

Murray has to hold on to the ball. 2 hands please when your about to make contact. Fumble on the 10 cost us points.

Murray gets us down to the goal on a bibig run after Romo goes out and we can score a TD. Can settle for FGs when your that close. I would have liked to see us run there on 2nd and goal. Also Dez has to make that catch in the end zone.

The playing calling when the Commanders were sending the all out blitz. Where is the added protection? Where is the screen to Dunbar or murray? Quick out to Witten?

This is we beat ourselves in this game.

Even if that's the case the Cowboys sure have done a lot of that in recent years. It's almost like they should be learning from it.

I think there's a little of that in every game though. I mean, I bet Houston and St. Louis feel similarly about their games with Dallas. Stuff happens, you just hope it ends up lopsided in the Cowboys favor.

I think this is absolutely accurate.

It looked just like the several times they've done the exact same thing over the past several years.

For all the deserved praise that Linehan has received to this point, he also deserves the criticism that comes from a game like that.

And Murray deserves the criticisms for fumbling while foolishly fighting for an unnecessary and unattainable yard.

Garrett wouldn't case blame on the playcalling, but this fan will.

I do think there are some games to which "we beat ourselves" applies. This game, however, I don't believe it does. We couldn't counter their blitz, and our defense couldn't get off the field. That is why we lost.

I don't think we beat ourselves.

I think we just didn't executed ell. Dez had a bad game. Romo had a bad game and the coaches didn't adjust on offense well.

No excuses. It will be fine though

Agree. But when things are going poorly we do have something that works almost every single time. A big physical ol and a tough runner. I would have liked to see them turn the game over to them when all else was going south

Oh definitely.

I think they were saving murray though. This was the game to try to do that, but they still didn't need to get away from running the ball down their throats. Run by committee.

Washington ran it more than we did. 25 runs all night? That's just terrible. Linehan should catch hell for it all week.

I am wondering how the Cowboys will respond after this loss? That is key.. Should be interesting..

Course, still don't get it.. Your RB just rips off a 51 yd run. And, gets COMPLETELY IGNORED when the team is on the two yard line or so.

Brilliant.

Turnovers are probably the worst indicator for winning percentage. Anytime you turn the ball over, your chances at losing dramatically increase. The first turnover didn't hurt in the sense that the 'Skins got no points for it, but it certainly hurt in the sense that you get a clear first down after you're moving the ball and then you give the other team the momentum. What hurts the most is they are just dumb turnovers - not protecting the ball properly and not something great that the defense has done.

I'm surprised Garrett has yet to pound this into his players knowing his affiliation with the SB team of the 90s. A play to gain extra yardage on an already positive play is never worth the turnover. Those type of things should only be done in desperation time.

That last drive in particular.

The league leading rusher goes for 8 yards on first down (like he has all night!) and yet you turn to your ailing quarterback for 3 straight pass plays to end the game?

You deserve to lose that game coach!

Murray doesn't fumble on the 10 that's atleast 3 points. We win. If dez catches that TD that's 4 more points. We win

Well almost completely ignored. They ran it on 1st down. Then they got tempted by that Dez candy everyone loves, and they just couldn't resist.

Then you watched a different game than I did. They beat Dallas fair and square. They stopped the offense which protects the defense by blitzing Romo.

There is no such thing as 'beating ourselves'. The Commanders outscored us and the game ended. If that's the case the Rams could say that we didn't beat them. They beat our selves.. So can any team in which we played close. Sooner or later, those turnovers came to bite us... playing around to the opponent's level eventually got to us.

This is what I keep coming back to. Say what you want to about not being able to handle the blitz for crap all damn night, but if we don't fumble the ball twice, we're winning that game. If Dez holds onto an easy throw in the endzone, we win.
