We better fix our defense!

The run defense has been an ongoing issue for years. We’ll never get far if we can’t stop the run. We’re going to continue to be attacked on the ground until we figure it out. Our pass rush was applying pressure, but it wasn’t getting home like it did last season. The biggest problem with the defense is it doesn’t show up in the playoffs. Although we have a top 10 defense, it didn’t play to that ranking in the playoffs. We need more size upfront, and at LB.

Our run defense has been good to great in games where the offense is scoring points. It's the games where the offense gets bogged down with 3 and outs, loses TOP and fails to score. When the other team can keep it close that's when we get in trouble. We're built to play with leads and getting the other team to have to pass. We're built for speed, not physicality.

Our run defense has been good when we build a lead and opponents are forced to throw. They’ve been forced to abandon the run with the big leads we’ve built. When we get behind opponents can run the ball.

Cowboys just finished the season with one of the best defenses in the league. That was without Diggs, LVE and Overshown.

With them returning, it's easy to see where they can add talent to make this a better defense next year.

LVE may not return and definitely can’t be relied on to stay on the field.

Overshown is a good prospect but has yet to play a down in the league.

Diggs hopefully will return to form but we’ll see.

Where's the beef? They need to seriously add some beef to the entire front 7.

They just added that average guy from Michigan with our first rounder.

I think the defense will obviously be better with Diggs coming back and Overshown hopefully becoming the player we envisioned after the draft but counting on LVE seems like a mistake. We need a true MLB through FA and/or the draft.

Talent only takes you so far. Coaching and schemes incredibly important.

We got punched in the face early and folded with no adjustments. Niners came out second half on defense like they did a 180. Then there QB started making plays. Plus what seemed like 20 dropped balls also helped them.

We for years have made no adjustments whatsoever.
