"Well, when I look at our first game, the Arizona game, that was a barometer too,'' he said, sending a not-so-subtle reminder that the Niners went to the defending NFC Champions in Week 1 and wiped the sod with them. "Minnesota's a barometer too, but we've got to keep it in perspective. We can go to Minnesota and win a football game, but if we haven't played well, I'm not going to be happy.''

Classic Singletary.

I don't know about everyone else, but this is the kind of attitude I want from our players and coaches, spilled milk now, but ol Singletary looks like could have been a good choice when Jerry had the opportunity to hire him.

Damn, I miss having a respected, inspiring and tough head coach.

Dallas needs a coach with an ability to lead his team but creative enough to know how to set aside his own ego and make Jerry feel like he is getting plenty of credit and notoreity.

I think Jerry will listen and acquiesce to a coach that is strong minded (and I do not mean to the negative extremes of Parcells and Jimmy), but that coach will need to be able to find a way to not let Jerry steam roll him and he cannot damage Jerrys ego in the process. It's hard enough to be a head coach in the NFL, but I think these are the unfortunate job skills needed for any coach to succeed in Dallas.

A reigned in Jerry willing to sign players, spend money and make deals lead by a great football coach that can identify & develop talent, inspire players & coaches, teach and lead his team would (I dare say) make this team dangerous for years.

bruh i hate to bring this name up again, but TO had that attitude (washington game) and he was criticized for it. People arent ready for that attitude here (or at least they werent ready for it from him). Jason Witten is the only other player on the team that I have heard demonstrate that attitude, just not as demonstrative as TO. People dont want to hear it, but you can win with people like Witten and TO on your team. People that will practice hard, work hard, and put their body's on the line for the team. I love both of those guys, b/c they dont accept and arent happy with mediocrity.
