I'm sorry, he was a feel good story for us a few years ago when Dak went out. We brought him back, and now he's the starter again. I think it's time to cut ties with him, and move on to another set of backup QBs for this team. Please give your thoughts on this

Cooper Rush will be back, with a raise, because the GM only works part time and really has no interest in spending the time to research outside sources to improve the team.

It's been proven time and time again, JJ will default to the players he knows to build this roster.

I think Jerry is suppressing Trey's snaps so he can sign him back as QB2 at super cheap deal. I like Cooper Rush, but it's time to move on. Personally, I'd play Lance n Grier the rest of the season, and thank Rush for his 5 or so years of service. Finish the season evaluating young in house QBs,maybe even pluck one off a PS to get a look at another QB.

Draft a guy to come in and possibly push Dak off the roster. I don't expect a 1st round QB to be drafted, but I'd take a look at a winner like Dillon Gabriel.

Rush could never be a starter in the NFL, but as a BACK-UP QB he isn't that bad. I think he's the same QB he was a few years ago. The problem is the rest of the team is crap this year!! He needs some support!! I think he would do much better if he had better players around him. That's my 2 cents.

The QB position specifically should be one you are always looking to develop some young talent. I don't mind rush but he has peaked and they need to start training a backup.

well, odds are the new coach should have *some* say in this and can get a qb who's familiar with whatever offense he will put in for dak to screw up.

They are way too cheap. Look at how they are handling zeke. They aren't keeping zeke cause he's a good runner at this point. They just like him personally and don't want to add the little bit of dead money. Anyone else would have cut him in camp.

They will because it's such the cowboys thing to do. These fools bought a washed up zeke back for crying out loud. Why wouldn't they bring rush back.

The issue with Jerry is that he is too emotional invested into certain players current and former. Not sating that he shouldn't have but he made sure former players like aikman, Irving, sanders and others didn't want for anything after football. Of course that was off the books but the point is, Jerry is too emotional that he would save zeke a spot just for old times sake even if it may hurt the team.

Rush also has history long enough that he just can't find himself off this team regardless of what backup is out there. I really don't even want to think of the real reason he paid dak. It's damn sure not because he is a good QB.

Rush will be the backup until we find a better option. The team was losing with Dak but it’s clearly gotten worse since he’s been out. The Cowboys won’t be able to put a lot of money into a backup QB. A quality backup can cost some money and it’s going to be difficult due to what Dak is making.

Rush is cheap and knows the system. That's enough for Jerry.

But whether he is brought back to not, can we at least find a head coach smart enough to not have a backup throw the ball 55 times.
