I just visited extremeskins and the confidence over their is just absolutely rediculous.

They have really convinced themselves that they would beat us even if we were trying our hardest.

Would someone please bump the thread that said "bump this thread even if we lose" from a few weeks back when we beat their arse so they can be reminded?

It would be smart just to beat these guys next week and be done with them in my opinion.

I'd rather face someone out of the division other than someone in the division if we have to play them again

Groude and Watkins should sit another week giving the knee and ankle time to heal.

Romo should not play more than a half with his thumb

Owens is going to be out but have 3 weeks to get healthy

Any of the major starters that are dinged will probably play a 1/2 just to keep them semi sharp

Yeah. It pains me to say it because I'd love to eliminate them this week and break their hearts, but a Superbowl title is more important. It's time to sit down our starters but still play our guts out. Hopefully Brad Johnson has something left to stick it to Danny-boy.

To tell you the truth, I'm actually looking forward to our backups playing. I think they would have more incentive (especially for Brad Johnson) to play well than the starters, and so can actually pull out the victory. Plus, it would give us a chance to see how well our backups are compared to their starters and see just how good or not so good (hopefully the former) our drafting has been.

Mixed emotions. I would love to crush them but we gotta play it smart. The Eagles in '04, The Seahawks in '05, and the Bears in '06... all #1 seeds rested their starters the last game of the year. They all made the SB. I honestly believe they'll lose in the first round of the playoffs if they're good enough to beat us next week.

I agree but I think we need to ball out for at least a half.

3 weeks is just to long to not play a game. I seriously think our depth is good enough to hold the Commanders off for a half with a 10 point lead.

Plus i'd like to not see any of our division opponents in the playoffs. You never know what can happen with a division rival.

Guys like Newman though shouldn't play at all and other nicked up players. If Romo thinks he can go for a half let him do it.

I think we should rest everyone remotely injured, go with Brad J. and Sam and Miles and Isiah at rcvr, Fasano at TE and any dinged lineman sits. On D, sit Ware and Greg. Go with Spencer and the second unit. Give Tank alot of reps, let Ball and Reeves start.

However: CALL a good aggressive gameplan... break out some gadget plays, take some chances. I think our D can contain the Skins pretty good, we have terrific depth on D. If we find ourselves with a chance to win late, MAYBE bring in the starters to finish them off. What do you think?

I agree except for Romo. He is such an important piece but at the same time 3 weeks of not playing could throw off his timing and rhythm.

If the Colts can play Manning for a half then we sure as heck can too.

I've never liked how this team has started out coming off bye weeks and 3 weeks off scares the heck out of me.

Agreed but I think it would be silly to bring the starters back in any scenario.

If we're going to play them just a half, maybe we should put the starters in after halftime. Let our backups figure out what Wash wants to do with the gameplan and our defense keep it close, then put in Romo, Glenn, and Witten and crack the game open, kill off the Skins playoff hopes, and enter the postseason on a high note.

Why wouldn't they be confident against us? They should have beat us a few weeks ago at home. And they have played pretty well against us the last few year and have Romo's number.

As much as I hate to admit it - I think the skins are a team of destiny right now and will probably beat us in the playoffs because Phillips is a loser in the playoffs like Schottenheimer. In fact he has never won a playoff game and that is why Buffalo jettisoned him.

It's up to your coach to decide what he wants to do, but the way I see it, if your starters play terrible against the Commanders, your team's confidence will hit rock bottom heading to the playoffs. Why take that chance? Better rest your players. Romo is playing with a sore thumb. If things happen to your starters, you may end up having a hard time in the playoffs. Better rest your players if you want to get to the superbowl. Who cares about divisional rivalry when you can get to the superbowl? Many of your players need to be rested.
