We could have had Jim Harbaugh

It's Jan 2024, we just get our ... handed to us to by the Packers. Time to blow the whole thing up right? Just so happens that Harbaugh - a proven winner - is available. But what do you do? You pretend you are going "all-in" and stick with McCarthy and do nothing in free agency.

The Eagles win the SB, Dak is out for the year and you fire McCarthy. You then hire Brian Schottenheimer...a Gomer Pyle fake disciplinarian who does nothing but desperately try to ignore the circus that surrounds the team and the mayhem in the front office. If he was a change agent, he wouldn't have been hired.

So, looking at the Chargers...I am jealous for what could have been.

Jimmy Johnson said Justin Herbert was his favorite of all the new QBs. Along with Harbaugh, that's a recipe for success.

But we got Dak and Schotty...

Bro-Harbaugh would not accept the GM/head coach relationship that the Cowboys use. Finding guys that are okay with getting castrated publicly is difficult.

100%. People can complain all they want about not getting this coach or that coach. But, the hard truth is that no reputable coach would come here to be Jerry’s puppet.

No we could not have had Harbaugh. Jerry doesn’t hire qualified, strong head coaches.

And no self respecting HC would agree to be here as Jerry’s Pinocchio who gets thrown under the party bus for Jerry’s decades of mistakes.

Don’t assume just because a head coach candidate is available all the Cowboys have to do is call and they’re going to join the Cowboys organization. The Dallas Cowboys is not a desirable NFL franchise to be associated with.

No way Harbaugh would prefer Dallas over the LA Chargers.

We get a post like this every other week or any time another team has a big day.

Just recently the threads talking about guys we “could have had” included Harbsugh, Ben Johnson, Dan Campbell, Matt Vrabel and Mike McDonald,

Most of those guys wouldn’t play for Jerry and had much better opportunities elsewhere.

Dealing with Jerry is honestly a coaching job skill requirement in Dallas. It’s why I tend to give our Head Coaches a little bit of slack because it requires an ability to manage up that many coaches don’t have as a critical success factor in their toolbox.

It sucks for us because it takes a lot of coaching talent completely out of play.

We got Jerry, and we are doomed as long as he is GM.

He would NEVER coach for Jerry Jones. Ever.
